That link is NEWS to me and I am a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Below is a modification of what I posted on that thread link.
Devout Greek Orthodox have always held the Greek Bible in the highest regard. The Church from ancient times has always read John 1: 1-17 at Pascha services on Holy Saturday Night (The Easter Vigil). Pascha, celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, is considered to be the Feast of Feasts. This Gospel passage is considered the most important, because the Church has always used it as the revelation from God that the Eternal Word of God is The Christ, the God-Man.
"In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD WAS GOD. He was in the BEGINNING WITH GOD, all things were made THROUGH HIM, and without him Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was LIFE, and the LIFE was the LIGHT OF MEN. The LIGHT shines in the darrkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. ...
And the WORD became FLESH and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld His glory, glory as of the ONLY SON FROM THE FATHER. (John bore witness to Him, and cried, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me ranks before me, for He was before me.'") And from His fullness have we all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."
Incidentally, this passage from the beginning of the Holy Gospel of St. John is avoided by Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. These groups officially deny that The Christ is the Eternal Word of God, part of the Holy Trinity, who is the Uncreated and Eternal God. We Christians, on the other hand, worship a Triune God: One God in Three Divine Persons: the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. The All-Holy Trinity is a holy mystery that our puny little human brains will never fully understand. All we can do is

down in adoration. Holy, Holy, Holy, art Thou of God! Why are three Holies said? This is done in honor of the Triune God, Whom we adore and magnify.
Amen. Amen. Amen.
