In researching my book I was surprised at how many ancient myths so many cultures shared. Do you think this stems from before God confused the languages at the Tower of Babel or is it just a coincidence?

Not at all. In fact, how many cultures have their own version of the "Tower of Babel"? Example a Japanese Pagoda? Or the Tower Pisa? They are all like Babel in a way.

Before Mary gave birth to Jesus, satan already had a false "madonna/child" counterfeit! Semiramis and Tammuz (the son of Nimrod, king of Babel who "knew" his mother according to some pagan writings I've read about). After Nimrod died, Semiramis claimed she had miraculously become "with child" and gave birth to Tammuz (Baal). The Obelisk symbol encircled is a phallic symbol of Nimrod's union with Semiramis, this is why it is twisted and perverted. I think this is also in the Book of Enoch, but I am not sure. But that book is not part of the Bible.

God also told Moses at Sinai He would write His law on man's hearts. Is there any wonder why many cultures have laws that parallel many of the Ten Commandments? Or why some Eastern Mysticism (as pagan as it is, and I reject it) has concepts that parallel Psalms and Proverbs? I don't doubt some knowledge of Babel (the root of Babylon) and some of God's knowledge did pass into various cultures before the Babel split, and God did write His law on the hearts of people in many lands, via the influence and conviction of the Holy Spirit. I'd have to dig up some scripture on some of this.

In fact, in Northern Iraq in the very area where both Babel and Nebechadnezzar's Babylon once stood, I hear the place is so evil, that people do not stay there at night because of the intense demonic activity that is said to exist in the area. It is truly the devil's nesting ground as the Bible said it would be. I'll have to look that up. But that's what I hear.

I also wonder how much of our actual folklore and mythology is based on the devil's perversion of the wonders of God's universe?

I know some people may not agree and that's OK. These are just some ideas I have. And I'm sharing this kind of "impromptu", I didn't look up any scriptures on this yet. But my ideas are based on scripture, I'll have to do some digging and get back to you.

Just food for thought.

God bless!

How about the possibility that foreign myths get rewritten to fit 'our' pattern or waht we can accept?

Dig a little into the stories Disney has made into films. The earlier versions were often far different and more grim.

Consider the possibility that a lot of the similarities between stories are becaseu thery are recast to fit what we want.

Isn't it fair to say Disney rewrites stories to fit how they want? Pocohontas for example? Pocohontas per Disney bears no resemblance to the things I've read about the REAL Pocohontas. I've seen liberties taken with some fictional stories too. I think Disney has its own agenda though. Especially when it comes to "erasing Christianity" from a story.
