CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And just like you don't want us to have prejudice on your thread please try and have an open mind while replying why you don't like it (cause everyone is allowed to like or dislike something, but saying something sucks isn't a reason)

I think we're talking a different era. I'm 40 so my idea of punk is the Sex Pistols, The Damned, The Buzzcocks, The Clash (Londons Burning), Generation X (billy Idol)
Anyway, now I've mellowd I'd rather go see Third Day anytime.

Whenever somebody who likes "rock" shows me something, it always seems generic and uninspired lyrically (and I don't care about how well they "play instruments"). I'm not really sure what "rock" refers to, though.

Stuff like that sounds cool, but to me sounds a little too fake/cliche.
I suggest that anyone who doesn't like rock to check out underground bands. Half of the mainstream bands are overheard and less unique compared to indie bands.

Repetitive
Uncomplex/simple (unless we're talking Prog)
The worst songwritting I've ever heard has been in Rock. Not Rap or Country.
Formulaic, 1 or 2 guitars+bass+drums+singer. LETS MIX IT UP!
Been-Done syndrome
A real super group for this generation hasn't formed yet.
