They both loved this country (unlike many here) and fought to protect it.
Unlike many here.

Your president didn’t serve in the military. In fact, he got FIVE deferments to avoid serving. His wife also had to remind him to put his hand over his heart once while they were on the White House balcony. So, where are the complaints about him not serving from patriotic Christian Republicans?

Simple the current pledge of allegiance was written by a Christian Socialist Francis Bellamy.

It’s kind of strange that’s not common knowledge among people who call themselves patriotic.

Now, THAT calls for some explanation.

Sure thing Albion.

The pledge of allegiance started as a pledge of fealty to the state written by a socialist, Francis Bellamy. I honestly think that if someone where to try to introduce something like this today conservatives would be dead set against it.

One of the really fun parts of it's history is the salute that went along with it.

Our military and the veterans love him that should tell us something if our ears and eyes are open?

The pledge of allegiance started as a pledge of fealty to the state written by a socialist, Francis Bellamy.

Francis Bellamy was what was called a 'Christian socialist' in those days, so okay, he was a socialist. But the pledge is not socialistic in its wording, and Bellamy himself described it exactly as the words would be taken by anyone who doesn't know a thing about the background of the author--which is most people.

It was--AS HE EXPLAINED IT IN HIS OWN WORDS--a paean to the Declaration of Independence, to the Republic, and to the principles fought for and won in the Civil War, i.e., that the Union of states is one and indivisible.

Are you a veteran? Because if you are not do not presume to speak for me.

October 23, 2017
The Military Times survey of 1,131 active-duty troops found 53 percent of military officers oppose Trump, while only 30 percent hold a positive view about the president.

So are your ears and eyes open?

It was also a pledge of loyalty to the state. You are saying that a socialist creating a pledge of loyalty to the state is OK in your book? This is something you feel is OK? I must admit I am surprised by that.
