  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

:preach:

The early Apostolic Church that recorded what the Apostles taught them.
So would that include anyone who claims that they are writing something that an apostle taught them?

You claim they are teaching you simply by reading their words.

So, is everyone a liar that doesn't agree with one's own personal interpretation of scripture?

What is an R.C. cross icon ?
Sorry for not being more precise, can't remember what it's called.
Secundulus has one by His name.
Looks like a cross with a short bottom.
(BOTTOM firecritter, don't get any ideas)

You're speaking of this "The Catholic Church isn't a denomination.", but the one and only one established by Jesus, even going so far as calling protestants communities and not churches?

Yup.

On the other hand, the ecclesial communities which have not preserved the valid Episcopate and the genuine and integral substance of the Eucharistic mystery,61 are not Churches in the proper sense; however, those who are baptized in these communities are, by Baptism, incorporated in Christ and thus are in a certain communion, albeit imperfect, with the Church.62 Baptism in fact tends per se toward the full development of life in Christ, through the integral profession of faith, the Eucharist, and full communion in the Church.63

“The Christian faithful are therefore not permitted to imagine that the Church of Christ is nothing more than a collection — divided, yet in some way one — of Churches and ecclesial communities; nor are they free to hold that today the Church of Christ nowhere really exists, and must be considered only as a goal which all Churches and ecclesial communities must strive to reach”.64 In fact, “the elements of this already-given Church exist, joined together in their fullness in the Catholic Church and, without this fullness, in the other communities”.65 “Therefore, these separated Churches and communities as such, though we believe they suffer from defects, have by no means been deprived of significance and importance in the mystery of salvation. For the spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as means of salvation which derive their efficacy from the very fullness of grace and truth entrusted to the Catholic Church”.66

Beef stroganoff here, gotta start slicing the beef shortly myself ^_^

I know they are little cartoon pictures of crosses, each one decorated differently to "distinguish one self" after which particular group each one IS OF ;)

AS long as we pick up our crosses and not just glory in our cartoon cyber ones that might please Him more

Catch ya later gator, I need to make dinner too in a second, enjoy your ribs sis

Interesting.
I remember I was a RC back in the 60's and went to a high school Seminary in Tucson, AZ in '66 to study to be a priest in my junior year of high school.
I didn't make it to the senior year so I suppose that is why I never got one :sorry:

OH, alright, before I go ...
NOW i see what you're saying.
YOu're saying that I claim that the apostles are teaching me simply by my reading their words.
(IS that correct?)

And if so I assume your point is that you have not only their words but ... something better too?
So, is everyone a liar that doesn't agree with one's own personal interpretation of scripture?
Now this part is just plain .....(insert polite word for goofy)

I asked a legit question Secundulus.
You dont want to answer it fine.
I will never shirk from truth again here.
It could be way too costly.. and we're called to emulate HIM
who IS truth.
 God bless you.

Guys and Gals,
This thread is very controversial (even making that statement is redundant) and I just want to clear some air. The main points everyone has made have all been for the wrong reason. Isn't Christianity about looking at your own faults? Holding friends accountable instead of judging them out ofprideful disagreement? So far this thread has been successful at causing us to bicker with each other, when the most important thing is your relationship with Christ. We ALL agree that Christ died for us. We ALL agree he rose again on the 3rd day. And we ALL can agree that most of these posts are for the wrong reasons. Let's do what Christians do and forgive each other as Christ Forgave us

Tis the opposite of the Cross icon I have showing :)

I still don't know how my cross isn't an R.C. cross .

Surely we are not going to let shapes of crosses divide us on top of all the other silly things .
