• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Of course.

But that's not good enough for the OP. There, I must reject the Church and embrace Calvin, or Luther, or McArthur. as my infallible guide if I am to be recognized as a Christian.

They are of course better connected to the Holy Spirit than either I or the Pope.

It's the name he went by for a long time, until he changed it to RevJohn something, now its liturgy in Dminor. HIs actual name is John. We were friends once.
What denomination was he before he changed his username?
I do remember that username but can't find any info on it. Thanks

There's an interesting point. (Church as builidng or Church as body) And never the twain to be confused.

Sinai or Zion. Put on the travelling shoes shod with the Good News.

A living body is a unitary whole where all parts work in concert for a common purpose.

A dead body is one whose parts have been severed and no longer have any relationship to each other.

Dude, don't think Mary and the other saints appreciate your sentiment.

Num. 16:48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

Are you a prophet speaking for God or are you trying to defend the dysfunctional view of the body as different elements that work against each other.

The right arm thinks it is an eye and the left arm sticks a fork full of collard greens into the ear for dinner.

In the 'building'??
HE resides in His 'body'
but thats not the brick and mortar building.
So in that case, she can cross herself when she walks by any of us.
:p

I was referring to the 'nonsense' of the Eucharist.

We can leave the Catholic Chuch and the Orthodox out of it entirely and what I posted above is a microcosm of the legacies of Calvin, Luther, Zwingli, and Cranmer today.

By their fruits and all that you know.

You don't think the Church was One at some point in the past? Maybe this will help your recollection, and I'll even leave out the beginning of the visible split at Presbyter Polycarp who followed apostolic teaching and Presbyter Anicetus who followed Presybter Sixtus' custom:

Church.

c455 OO and Other

c1054 OO, EO, RC and Other

c1500s OO, RC, EO, P and Other

It's very simple, though, just go backwards to Church.

The Blessed Sacrament and you are two separate things.

so the Blessed Sacrament and the Church, we walked by were the same thing... she made the sign of the cross as we were walking by the Church building....

Strange, you show the Church vanishing in the 5th century.
