First off, this isn't a debate thread, but I would like to know why some people make fun of those who support Ron Paul in the Republican Primary. I understand you don't like him, and that's fine. I don't like some of the other guys, but I'm not calling their supporters goons, or saying that they wear tin foil hats, or saying that their all "sitting in their mommie's basements playing WW2 video games after the Star Trek reruns are over."

I just don't get it. I mean, there are lots of us who are established and well-meaning citizens. I'm a full time student with a part-time job. I know lots of supporters like that. I've met small-busisness owners and ministers who support him. I just don't understand the attacks like the ones I detailed above. So, if someone could explain that for me, that'd be nice. :)

I think part of it has to do with many of us have had discussions with Paul supporters who have come across as rather fanatical and arrogant. Some treat us like if we don't support Paul then there must be something wrong with us. Some are kind of in your face about him. I am not saying this is how all of his supporters act, just that we have talked with many who do. I also know that supporters of other candidates can behave the same way, we just seem to find this attitude coming from Paul supporters more often.

Some of us prefer discussions regarding a candidates position on issues, to study those candidates and to make our own informed decision over being told that if we don't vote for Paul, then we don't anything.

I hope this makes sense and you don't have to agree with what I am saying, but you asked. I don't agree with those who put Paul down either. They should take the high road instead of bashing Paul.

Just my two cents here.
