Why do other Christians hate Calvinist so much?

If you whiners think this is elementary school bickering and ludicrous, you should of seen it around here several years ago. It was alot worse.

Discussions of doctrine, theology, etc can be healthy and edifying, so as long as one is not becoming hostile and making apparent false accusations, name calling, etc. I see one on the attack and one defending.

If people can't discuss doctrine, why then do you waste your time coming here?

Have you actually studied the topic or do you just come "WITH GUNS A BLAZING! blasting away," every time you hear the word Calvinism?

Several years ago, I used to do the same thing as you. Why? Because I was ignorant. Ignorant is not a derogatory term but simply means "lacking knowledge." I really was. I listened to one man and his interpretation of Clavinism, who painted Calvinism as evil and wicked and anyone who was a Calvinist was/is not saved. He told me he studied this extensivly on the subject. I found out later that basically was about one book against it.

When things didn't click as to what he told me, I did my own independent study, using several books, sermons, articles and much prayer. I came to my own conclusion about the topic and realized he was wrong.

I suggest you do the same.

Brother, I would encourage him just to read the Canons of Dort so he can see clearly the arguments being made. But I really doubt that will happen.

I would imagine someone telling you your unsaved would of been a red flag for error........I don't think anyone would say a Calvinist error would negate their salvation, much the same way (at least today) the pre-trib rapture would not hinder someones salvation

It is amazing how many "Christians" will tell you that you are unsaved if you don't subscribe to their favorite interpretation of Scripture.

I will go to Hell because I attend Church on Sunday rather than Saturday. I will go to Hell because I believe in the soverignty of God in the salvation of mankind rather than believe that man has the spark of divinity in himself and can save himself by his own works or simply because he decides on his own volition that he is good enough to be saved.

The whole thing is getting rather silly, or would be silly if it wasn't a thing that divided christianity. The only one who wins by dividing Christianity is Satan. In this day, Christians must be very careful. There are great deceiving spirits whispering in the ears of man. That is why we must stay close to Christ in our walk and "try the spirits" to make sure of what they truly are.

That depends on the person's truth. Truth lies with Christ, not man.

why would you need to stay close to Christ, He will never leave you or forsake you, and those decieving spirits are only a concern for the unsaved, it would be impossible for a predestined elect to be deceivedall those warnings though given to the church, were for the unsaved......not exactly sure why but, the only other interpretation would mean they might be deceived.....but well you know!

Yes. That's exactly what Calvinists believe.

Every single person who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

Not one more, and not one less. That's what Calvinists believe.
