The primary reason is because Jesus of Nazareth did NOT meet their presumptions and assumptions about their Messiah, whom they expected to come in power and great glory and restore Israel as prophesied in Scripture (which He will at His Second Coming). They forgot all about passages such as Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22, and even now refuse to believe that those applied to their true Messiah.
The secondary reason is because Christ exposed the hypocrisy and evil that existed among their religious leaders, who ultimately enshrined Rabbinic Judaism in opposition to Christianity.
But to those who do believe ...to them he gave power to become the sons of god ...The answer is simple.
The NT image of Jesus(as) is not what is Prophecized.
When the messiah comes will there be money gold silver to bye or sell?I also would reject this notion that Rabbinic Judaism was put in place to oppose Christianity. It was a natural outgrowth of the Pharisee movement that was the movement that thrived after the fall of the Temple. It had little to do with opposing Christianity.
When the messiah comes will there be money gold silver to bye or sell?
There will come a time for each of us when the marketplace will close,
No more time to start or finish anything,
It is the time our book we have written goes to the publishers,
If one has started a good work, be sure to finish it,
Death???
Jesus ,when he came to the temple cast out those people who made the temple a market place. .calling it a den of thieves....Money is seen as idolatry in the New testament. .I believe when Jesus arrives money will cease to exist ..no need for it anymore...
But I was wondering what Judaism teaches about the reign of the messiah that when he comes will money exist in his reign ?
One of the cheapest ways to dismiss someone instead of actually countering their points is to claim they are either too stupid or too blind to see "the truth". That the New Testament uses that phrase to describe those that disagree with it is an extreme weakness. Not all people receives Jesus, and the same thing is true with the Jews. Many of them are blinded. But there are some who already accepted Jesus.
Jews are blinded how?Not all people receives Jesus, and the same thing is true with the Jews. Many of them are blinded. But there are some who already accepted Jesus.
The issue was the money changers overcharging people, not that sales were going on. The Temple always sold animals from the time of Solomon because you needed to own the animal for it to be a sacrifice. A designated courtyard was setup for that purpose. Otherwise you were giving up nothing. Also, it allowed for the animals to be inspected prior to purchase to ensure they were without blemish.
Yet the new covenant teaches salvation is free a gift. No need to purchase a sacrifice...temple worship would be free for all men...The issue was the money changers overcharging people, not that sales were going on. I understand that ...that is why the sacrifice will be an act of faith...a ritual of rememberance of the sacrifice already made to please Hashem...If you aren't giving anything, you aren't sacrificing anything.
Now, this is just my opinion here because I am still learning about this.
I believe the Old Testament is in conjunction to the New Testament. The Old Laws still exist and are not abolished just because Jesus came - He is the addition.
Were the Jews blinded then? I believe so, yes, since they could not accept Jesus.
However, there are Messianic Jews that believe in Jesus.
Twice in ch. 9 Daniel uses messiah (מָשִׁיחַ, verses 25 and 26. Which is what I had in mind.
For example,
"Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times." (verse 25)...

So you have to keep performing these sacrifices of faith?
