To me, it seems that almost everyone in college is just worried about grades...learning is not even a top priority anymore. People just simply wanna "pass"...including myself. And it's really stressful to think about grades all the time. It has a major affect on us. I just wish I could drop out of college honestly...but, then again there's always the "what are you gonna do with your life?" to think about. You know, you don't have to be highly educated...I mean look at Bill Gates...(I know he's not saved yet hehe) he's the RICHEST guy in the WORLD and he's a collge dropout!!! I mean come on....so for all of us *Christians* all we may need is God's Wisdom, some perserverance and a winning spirit!! And we can be BILLIONAIRE'S in NO TIME...and maybe God doesn't even need you to go to college! But, you should find out what His will for you is. It's tempting to quit...believe me I know. But we have to just keep going and believing for everything to work out in our favor!

Love ya,
Erika

i have been called to become a minister at the end of my enlistment with the airforce. my biggest problem is weather or not to go to colloge and recieve my "cerditionals" or to go the old fashion way. paul didn't have any certificate saying he could preach the gospel why should i. plus is bible colloge realy that helpful. a lot of great pastors never went to colloge why should we in to days sociaty have to go. thanks and god bless:preach: :prayer:
You will not succeed in ministry without training. It simply wont happen, Im not saying this to be negative, but you cant go through ministry without training.

Edit: Im a Student at NOBTS, and on a personal note, dont screw up waht myself and other students are doing because you dont think you need a formal education. Having the chance to go and skipping it is going to hurt your ministry and anyone who will follow after you.

now i wouldn't say that one will not succeed in ministry without training, take Jim Cymbala (for those who don't know who he is google him) for example...while i would highly highly empahsize the importance of spending time as a student of God's Word i will say that even if you don't you are not doomed but once again i do highly highly emphasize that you spend time as a formal student of God's Word

I don't think that bible college is necessary. Alot of churches may require it though. I think that going to bible college will give good knowledge and skills that will be helpful when being a minister. But I also think that there are other ways to gain this knowledge .. and that the actual minstering to people in the real world is the best experience you could get.

Bible college is more about getting you focused and gaining spiritual maturity/growth than getting "qualified".

I am in Bible College and am growing everyday in the
experience - I think its more about God growing "US" than us just jumping in to do the "work of God".

May you be richly blessed so that you may bless others..

- Chris :)

Paul was educated under the famous Rabbi Gamaliel, and his writings show he was faliliar with the Greek philosophical education as well.

An education trains you and teaches you how to do what you want to do effectively.

If all you would want to accomplish by any kind of education is to have the "credentials" then by all means don't get one. That would be a waste of time.

Your spelling and grammar indicates your attitude regarding education.
