It was persecuted by Christians because it didn't make any sense! How can apes breed human beings? Has anyone ever seen this? Basic biology teaches us that we need an egg & sperm to form life. Do you refute this? So again, how did apes breed human beings??In addition, there were of course, ZERO witnesses to this ridiculous theory. It's simply a fabrication from the imagination of one sinner & an illogical fabrication at that.

the round earth theory was also persecuted by the christians

sperm and eggs are also present in apes

apes bred into human being through millions of years of evolution
as all the fossil evidence suggests

this is what bugs ME about creationists
you try and disprove a scientific theory using non scientific means
which of course never works
i have an idea
go to the library and read up on biology, geology, chemistry, evolution, natural history and then debate with people

i don't debate things i know nothing about

And the sperm and eggs in apes produce apes which is why they are still around today. Your point? Again, you still haven't shown how apes bred human beings. But you naively believe someone who says this just because he says so even though it's absurdity is obvious & contradicts basic biology. If you believe this, then you have no reason to say that any event in the bible is impossible!

evolution changes the genetic make-up of one species into another over a long period of time
thus ape, to australopithecus, homo habilis to homo erectus to homo sapien
etc
it IS basic biology
have you ever studied science or biology?

So if genetic make-up is changed by evolution, then why are apes still the same today as they were thousands of years ago? Or don't you know what they were like thousands of years ago? In that case, how you can you say whether or not they have evolved or not evolved? You, of course, cannot.

Scientists can make up whatever words they like for creatures they have invented. That does not at all demonstrate how apes came from human beings. Of course I've studied basic biology which is why i know that only an egg & sperm produce offspring. Do you know that?

not every species dies out when another branches off of it, however it is likely that any species which was similar enough to humans would be assimilated or destroyed in competition with the humans, the neandertals are a good example of this.

In ref to the OP, I don't see how creationism could be taught in schools, given there's nothing to teach (outside of a literal reading of Genesis). I've yet to see creationists put forth a well-supported (by evidence), cohesive theory of creationism. All they do is attack mainstream science.

Human beings are apes, therefore apes breed humans by definition.
But you naively believe someone who says this just because he says so even though it's absurdity is obvious & contradicts basic biology.
Humans are obviously apes, at least so it seems to me. And you don't appear to have any business lecturing anyone about "basic biology."
If you believe this, then you have no reason to say that any event in the bible is impossible!
Worst. Logic. Ever.

They aren't.

We, of course, can because we, of course, have fossils of old apes.

I think we all know that. Some of us, unlike you, also understand evolution, which is much more complex than egg and sperm.

Do you think that Creationism is science? If you think Creationism is science please explain how you would use the scientific method to test its validity.

Sorry, but I have yet to see an ape on this forum (although some people might disagree with this.) If you can't see the difference between an ape & a human being, then I regret to say, there isn't much hope for you. There's a reason an ape is called an ape and a human being is called a human being. If they were the same then of course we would use the same word for both. Apes are presently held in zoos or in their natural habitat which is not where human beings reside. But there are so many obvious differences that even debating the point with you is embarrassing. But if you'd like to see them for yourselves, then go to the zoo.

If teachers don't want us to understand basic biology then why do they teach it to us, expecially to our children? Sorry, but it doesn't take a rocket scientists to know how species produce offspring.

Again, saying something isn't logical without being able to prove it comes from the thinking of atheists. Your arguments still don't show how human beings come from apes. Infact, your argument comes from calling a bird a house or an ant a dog. Someone who makes statements like you have is not a very good representative of the theory of evolution. It's embarrassing that you take them seriously.

what's embarassing is your extremley limited knowledge about a subject that you are debating

Silly logic. By this reasoning gibbons are not apes because we also call them gibbons. "Ape" is a common name that reflects a higher classification than "human being." Humans are apes, gibbons are apes, orangutans are apes. Simple.

I'm a biology teacher, so don't pretend like you're saying something I don't understand.

I don't suppose it will do any good to tell you that whatever it is you're talking about, it isn't the theory of evolution.

If Evolution were as simple as eggs & sperm, I wouldn't believe in it either. But when I didn't understand it, I went to the library and learned! It's amazing what the wonders of education with an open-mind to new concepts can accomplish.

because millions of years ago the species split into apes and humans, therefore creating two species as opposed to one, which is what you seem to think we are suggesting.

So, should we tell Carico that humans are Apes and would be even if evolution is wrong? Or do you think they are happy believing their own definitions?
:)

Most people don't realize that the common names for things are often not about their specific species, but of a larger group.

Maybe a little comparison would help?

Humans and gorillas are both apes.

Housecats and lions are both cats.

If its the only logical explanation, how come it doesnt make sense to me? I understand what creationism basically says, but I dont understand why it make so much sense to some people. Evolution makes perfect sense to me

The breath you are taking right now God has given you, wordly people will fail use, God never will, my point is this , Id rather my children to grow up knowing him then giving them a one way ticket to a place I want no one to evey see, Common since tells me the person giving me each breath is whom I should chose.
