  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you must know:

There is no evolution, but rather "a time, times, and half a time" - i.e., the [dividing] of time. One light divided in your sight through the prism of time, which is a creation of God...is still One Light. A great light has come into the world, but the world did not comprehend it.

Though you were told, you did not understand, because it was not revealed to you. Some will die and walk out their days in this world in His light, some will not see until the end, until they are raised up in the judgement, some unto eternal life, some not - but every eye will see.

I dont understand why people resist being of one mind in Christ. There is no division in one mind, but there is only Christ and Him alone. There are no denominations, politicians or political parties, no mans wisdom or mans tradition. There is nothing that divides whatsoever. This means to simplify the faith we share, not make it more complicated. This doesn't mean to throw out the scriptures, but rather to put them in our minds and hearts, and make room for nothing else that divides us. If anything divides it has no place in the Church and should not be debated. Look at Galatians 5-6. LIBERTY is mentioned. We are not a body of religion, science and politics, but of spirit. James says un defiled religin is to take care of widows and orphans and keep ourselves unspotted by the world, i.e. its politics, science, religion, because those things only cause division. Science is not bad but when it divides then its time to treat it as rubbish.

I can understand some Christians not seeing this, but the leaders of these denominations, they should see it, yet they dont or they would seek reform in the way of simplicity.

Do you think science is holy? Do you think its not vulnerable to false doctrines and fallacy? Its mans wisdom. Of course it is unholy. Does that make all science bad? No, but it doesn't make it holy either. To think that science is not vulnerable to false doctrines of man, is to exalt science in a place that God alone sits.

Science surely operates like politics and religion. Science needs money to operate for one thing. That alone makes is vulnerable to the pollution of mans false doctrines. Science is a religion to some, although they wont admit it. Or perhaps are too blind to see it

Good point made. I wasn't thinking of a broad scope. What I meant was, at its root, it's just meant to figure out knowledge/understanding, and if honestly we have empirically what's understood to be the best explanation with the data known, it shouldn't be thrown out. I know you disagree, but I also believe the Bible mainly teaches spiritual truth (other words: it's not a science book) so I don't mind overlap as long as the belief that God created is held.

Yea well, i don't follow fairy tales, i follow prophets. If anything makes the prophets seem like fictional characters then i wont follow it, or i wont follow the prophets anymore. I must follow only one or the other, and I cant follow both, because its illogical. Its like trying be unequally yoked with darkness, or having a divided mind. I see only Christ, and i don't see scientific theories that would contradict Him in any way.

Most religious teaching, Extraneous, including your own belief system is man's wisdom, however. To think that religion is not subject to false doctrines is put your doctrines in the place of God. That's why the Bible says we should test everyone. So the question is, How much of a reality base is there to your belief system? How accurate are you in interpreting Scripture? What evidence can you present that you submitted your belief system to any sort of testing?

The issue, Extraneous, is whether you are one with the mind of Christ. Every kook, fanatic, and terrorist in the book claims that he knows the mind of Christ and has Scripture behind him. Laity generally operate with no safeguards in place to insure they don't project their own preconceived-of biases into Scripture and then assume Scripture is supporting their own pet ideology when it really isn't. Now I know you are not a terrorist. However, I am a cautious person and I am not about to out any more trust in the validity of your understanding of Scripture and related matters than I am in what a false prophet says. The question is, Have you examined yourself enough to be sure you aren't projecting your own pet ideology back into Scripture?

Actually the Bible does mention "Dinosaurs" just not by that name, [Job 41] refers to Leviathan and describes it with traits matching certain dinos... but because it does not refer to the "Rings of Saturn" in Scientific terms it evidently means nothing to you...

It matters not what "most interpreters" of Isaiah say, it matters what the Word says about itself! As 2 Pet. 1:20-21 teaches;

20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Also check the Hebrew grammar before you make those comments on the stretching of the heavens...besides the Creator started the current process which is still expanding, He was the impetus of the action that we still find taking place today. Thus these verses support even what Big Bang Science tells us-the initial explosion is still expanding-Your rebuttal means nothing!

The point on Job 26 was that it is an early Book in Bible Canon making reference to scientific truth long before Science thought anything about the concept of "gravity." Isaac Newton finally got to a Scientific understanding of this, verifying the Biblical truth stated thousands of years previous. The misunderstanding is again on your part.

Oh, they weren't REALLY spiritual, they just THOUGHT they were spiritual, and so they crucified the Lord of Glory. And today, thinking one is spiritual IS NOT A GUARANTEE that one is right about that.

And that applies to you and me.

Sure, they came to Jesus and kept saying "show us a sign". But you and I know they were meanwhile ignoring sign after sign before their very eyes.

So lets not ignore the sign after sign before our very eyes that evolution is real.

By the way, remember you have a broken vitamin c gene that shares the same break with other primates . . . a sign that we had a common ancestral species once that had that mutation.

I share what i see. If people accept they do, if they don't then they don't. I have no desire to test anyone, nor to be tested. I test truth against scripture and i don't play silly games that children play. I'm too old for foolishness, and too tired as well.

No Hoghead, its you who are off base. You cant say Noah was a fictional character but then also say the prophets were real men. You cant pick and choose what to believe. Its my opinion that you either love the world or God, not both. Why am i even wasting my time here? You cant speak into deaf ears. You can try, but its futile.
