I understand then, your desire for connectness.

I feel that way sometimes, too, about connection. It hasn't been easy for me locally to find connection with others who openly love the Lord. Many church goers, but of their passion for God it is not so easily seen. When I lived in the Bible Belt, people were more open about their feelings for God. I liked that.

I am sure part of my passion for the TLM is that love for God is easier for me to see there.

Facebook has a Learning Latin group but they like to focus on classical Latin.

What I don't like is that people here are assuming that Pope Francis was critical of the TLM simply because he didn't like it. It's really annoying to see people try to propagate that idea. What JimR-OCDS has been saying here sounds more accurate. (BTW there is a TLM-exclusive parish in my Diocese)

It pains me to say this but there are people who attend TLM who act like they're better than everyone else because they attend TLM and not NO. Perhaps Pope Francis also had this in mind, I don't know.

Exactly. My diocese has a centralized parish that is TLM-exclusive. That is 1 parish out of 81 parishes. I feel very strongly about how the Mass is said in the tongue that I personally pray and worship in (among other reasons).

I really do not feel as Pope Francis was against the TLM way of worship - in the US, it has become a "we are better than you" mentality. I'm not sure if it's that way in any other country, but some how our country has found a way to politicize NO vs TLM (but of course we did).

Yes, to all of them. That is why we have different rites. How did we let it become competition?

I'd be a bit stronger to say, By being mean to the few who needed it. "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." (Jn 4:24) This is much more than merely "wanting" for souls hearing from God His holy desires, and hearing His Church working to accommodate something less. This is about much more than language. It is about worship.
