Exclusive: Kevin McCarthy gives Tucker Carlson access to massive trove of Jan. 6 riot tape

Exclusive: Carlson producers were on Capitol Hill last week to begin digging through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over Capitol grounds.

If McCarthy simply wanted to give the American people access, Carlson would not have been give the only access to all the footage. Do they have some sort of deal, expressed or unexpressed?

I wondered the same thing …

In the past, Tucker had subpoenaed the JD for the release of additional footage…. to no avail.

It’s speculation why McCarthy gave it to Tucker …Possibly due to the extensive research Team that he has…. I would not want to filter through 14,000 hours.. (10 minutes is my limit). Let’s wait and see what he comes up with.

Yes this is exceptionally weird.

Tucker presents himself in court as a non-journalist meant to be taken non-seriously.

(This was probly an under the table demand from "freedom caucus" types in return for their house speaker votes).

Let's see...

Tucker has platformed various conspiracies about "agitators" and "feds" in the crowd and lawyers whining about mass incarceration (of Jan6 insurrectionists) and unjust persecutions (of same). Gee, I wonder why Tucker was chosen for this task with the video?

Beyond the inevitable hack job that will entertain the Fox base, there are some real concerns here. The snippets shown at the Jan 6 committee hearings were all cleared for release by Capitol security. Having all the raw footage could conceivably show where surveillance cameras are in the Capitol (and where they aren't).

It pretty much has always been …it has never been a secret. In some ways they make an attempt to be fair and balanced… but it definitely swings right.

So, you have one major news source against multiple on the left. And then you do what is so typical of the left. Attempt to deflect the truth by pointing the guilty finger at someone else to dismiss them ….UNTIL that propaganda or disinformation turns out to be true ….then…………….~ crickets~

Propaganda …. is just you and your beliefs … You don’t like Fox because they don’t reflect what you believe….that is acceptable and honest

Perhaps he does not trust the MSM on this issue and thinks that FOX is the only network that will show everything, not just the things that will seem to incriminate Trump and innocent protesters and tourists. We all know how the MSM is biased against Trump and in favor of the Democrats.
I do not blame him.

But Carlson is not likely to show everything as he doesn't even pretend to be a journalist or unbiased, truthful or factual. He has maintained in court that he is merely an entertainer, not a serious newsman.

My big question is why only Carlson and not everyone else?

It does not appear that Carson has exclusive access, it appears that McCarthy wants access to be available to the public and why not? It is less than fair that the only footage that the public has seen was carefully selected and edited by those who have a specific bias.

I never understood this talking point about Fox News. It is by far the most watched TV channel in the country with well over a million viewers daily. Yet they are never seen as being part of the mainstream media.
