Why did God make it so animals need to eat in order to survive?

Well the fall can't explain animals eating each other, because the fall wasn't concious, so you left with god or Satan creating a perfectly balanced world to punnish animals because Adam and Eve ate a fruit? it can't be some abstract concept like the fall, because then how did conicdently the animals most capable of eating meat just happened to eat meat? And so on, seems it's a bit too weird a idea to use the fall as it raises too many theological problems.

The world was changed as a result of Adam choosing not to live under
God's protection. He was banished from the Garden and his offspring
and naturally born into the world Adam was sent to.

Adam and his offspring are stuck with a world that will end.
Not being paradise, food is scarce.

Would not eternal life be an indicator of no entropy in heaven?

Not if there is a source of healing and a source of food.

Rev 22:1-5
Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3 There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him;

4 they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.

5 And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.

But the changes proposed are not possible without intelligent manipulation to make them happen. What intelligent entity transformed lions from grass eaters to predators? What intelligent entity altered plants so they now bearing thorns? What intelligent entity transformed bees so that they had stingers? What intelligent entity taught wasps to inject their eggs into living beings, there to feast on the living body until ready to hatch? What intelligent entity designed the malaria organism to alternate living cycles between humans and mosquitoes?

Was it God who did all that? Or some lessor power?

Exactly!! There will be absolutely no entropy in heaven. No curse, no death, no sickness, no sin. Eternal life. Everlasting life.

Actually, our final destination isn't as spirits in heaven, but as resurrected people with glorified bodies living on a new earth.

We'll still be physical people and we'll still eat and drink physical food. And we'll have access to the tree of life, sustaining us indefinitely.

There you go again, asserting there will be no entropy in heaven without evidence, and indeed contrary to the literal words of revelation, which explain we'll get food and healing, both of which would be unnecessary if there were no entropy.

So I think you are merely in love with the words "no entropy" and utter them without understanding what they mean.

Myself, I think that portion of Revelation is not useful to this discussion because it's not describing heaven. It's describing New Jerusalem, which came out of heaven.

Well, its our future. And if you want to think of heaven as separate, you still lack evidence for there being no entropy in heaven! Its still an arbitrary assumption!

Your words suggesting decay, disease, death and destruction in the heavenlies isn't suggested anywhere in scripture. The passages you're quoting is speaking of spiritual food, spiritual healing, spiritual relationship.

Heh heh . . . and spiritual entropy?

Hey, all I'm saying is, lets not make unevidenced assertions about things that are mysteries.

It may be difficult to grasp, but the events that unfold, even at the quantum level,
are a manifestation of what God is. To say that God is the designer or manipulator
is quite simplistic. God has lived the entire process, the time line of creation,
Alpha to Omega, even before the world was created.
