  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why did David take 5 stone why not a few stones?
he knows that he can kill the giant with a stone why does he need trhe other 4 sones?

Now here is the type of question I like to hear. I do not not know the exact answer, I can only add thought to the question.

I know that 5 is the number of Grace, it is the favor of God. Perhaps there is a tie in there. Just as Joseph gave his brother 5 times more when he fed his brothers in Genesis 43:34.

Oh well, it is food for thought.

In the same story Goliath wore a covering of bronze, bronze being the material representing judgement, adds to the depth of this story.

Notice David removed the bronze covering off of himself after Saul put it on him. Perhaps meaning he will not be judged.

” 9 So Moses made a snake out of bronze and attached it to a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed!

14 And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

I only posted these few verses to show that bronze was a part of judgement.

Hopefully we'll get more info from other people.;)
