Why should a person choose Christianity as their religion?

Because if they want to have a relationship with the Living God, they would have to do it through Jesus the Christ. Christianity is the only outward expression of reaching The Father through the Son.

For me personally. I didn't choose Christianity per se but it was more of God planting seeds when I was young. I grow up in a secular household but already at a young age I felt His presence. As I grew older I began studying different religions and at times I was very angry at God and at one point, I even said: Thank You and goodbye to Him. I was sure of His existence but I was angry at Him for reasons, which at that time felt important but in hindsight were prosaic.

I left God but He never left me and through the years, He guided me in the Holy Bible and today Christianity is my home and Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour.

Because it is wonderful to have a relationship with a living God that takes care of you like only He can. :)

If you knew what God was doing to put right everything that is wrong in the world, wouldn't you want to be involved?

Hi Harvest of Fruit, why should a person choose Christianity over any other religion?
According to the Bible, Christ is the way and no man comes to the Father except through Him. So the issue is why choose to trust only in Christ.

Other religions offer works based paths to God, where Christ says all your righteousness is as filthy rags. God is opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble. So a humble person would trust in Christ, rather than himself, and a proud person would trust in himself.

You get to choose.

Christ offers you love & forgiveness. He doesn't dangle the carrot of salvation in front of you, He hands it right to you.

Evidence of His deity is shown by the "signs & wonders" He performed while walking the earth, and, more importantly, in His resurrection. Evidence of His resurrection is shown by the radical transformations of those He appeared to after rising from the dead. One of the most notable examples is the Apostle Paul, who wrote the majority of what is now the New Testament. Before seeing the risen Christ, he was a persecutor of Christians, torturing, imprisoning, and even killing Christ's followers. Then Jesus appeared to him, as he writes in 1 Corinthians 15. From then on, Paul himself set out to preach the gospel, facing persecution himself, was repeatedly imprisoned, beaten, tortured, etc., and eventually killed (martyred) for teaching of Christ.

This is one example. I tried to keep this as simple as possible. :D

So basically, Jesus proved who He was. Therefore, what He said should be taken to heart.

Given all this, I would definitely recommend that you pray about it, asking God to show you "why Christianity."

They shouldn't, it's a lie. It puts intermediaries between you and god and debases god's creation and insults him by saying it is broken and "fallen". You aren't worthless, you aren't filthy rags, you're not evil... only as long as you believe you are and don't try to be what god created you to be, which he has totally equipped you for (how could he not? It makes a mockery of god to suggest he wants something but instead of making it, he created a maze and circus show - that he wants us to know and love him but has made it incredibly difficult and an act of blind faith). Don't listen to the self appointed prophets and people that want to come between you and god.

I believe I am, and still try to be what God created me to be. ;)

which he has totally equipped you for
100% agreed.

He created what He wanted, and gave it the freedom to do what it wanted to do. I don't find it difficult, nor blind, to love & have faith in Him, when I take a look around and see all He's done.

Don't listen to the self appointed prophets and people that want to come between you and god.
Or Christ Himself, who fulfilled more messianic prophecies than humanly possible, and who provides the bridge between me & God.

Your zeal is pretty awesome, though.

Are these scriptures from your own bible?

Mine reads alittle differently.
