Because in all other instances of religion, Man Makes the effort to reach out to God through works/deeds.. In Christianity true Christianity God Reaches out to Man Through Jesus.

Ah ok. That's a good reason to be a Christian. How does one become a Christian?

you will want to start or establish a relationship with God with a General confession of faith. This is done usually though what is known as the sinners prayer.from there I would ask God for Guidance from the Holy Spirit. you obtain a measure of the Spirit through Asking, seeking and knocking. As in Luke 11: 5Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, 6because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.'

7"Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.' 8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
9"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 11"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

We ask through Prayer, and seek in places like this, church and in Scripture, and we knock by repeating this process till we get what we want.
Ask, seek, Knock.

Once you have obtained a measure of the Spirit you will have direction as far as where you go from there.

Why should a person follow Christianity?[/quote

God asks thath you follow Christ because no man can get to God except through him.

Don't look at it as a religion, but a spiritual relationship with God through Christ, this is what Christianity is suppose to be about. Everything else begins to take care of itself after that is established. Hope this helps..

I believe this is the way he planned it from the beginning that we would know him through his son Jesus.

When we see Jesus, we are seeing God.

God wanted to take upon 'flesh' as a man to let the world see who he was. We would have never known God had he not become 'like us'. He has given us and shown us his love when he became flesh as Jesus Christ. He came down as a man, while remaining God in Spirit, and tasted of pain and suffering just like us. He is in touch with our pain and suffering because he was not spared it when he was here. The very reason he was not spared is because that was the very reason he was born. He was born to experience what we do in the flesh and even taste of death, Yet even death had no power over him. He was raised from the dead as a symbol of having every thing under his foot, even death.

Yet Christ was perfect and sinless, he was the image of God. He did not know anything except Love, he could not have been anything except Love because he was Lord and he is Lord..King of Kings and Lord of Lords, God has put ALL power into his hands.

To understand who God is, look to Christ.:)

How does one become a Christian?

Here's what the Bible has to say:

1. Salvation is God's gift to us, undeserved and unearned, received by faith alone in Christ alone. It begins with a confession of the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour of one's life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
8 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 10:9-11
9 That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.

Acts 4:12
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (Christ's) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

2. Genuine salvation always necessarily involves a turning away from one's former godless lifestyle to a new, holy manner of living. This requires a humble admission of one's sinfulness to God and one's desperate need of His grace and mercy.

Matthew 4:17
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Acts 3:19
19 Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out...

Ephesians 1:7
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

1 John 1:9
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Acts 17:29-31
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:
31 Because he has appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained; whereof he has given assurance unto all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.

James 4:6-10
6 But he gives more grace. Wherefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

1 John 1:5-7
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

3. Genuine salvation always entails submission of one's entire life and being to God. God does not take a back seat to anything. When He enters one's life it as He is: the Ruler of All.

1 Peter 5:6
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

John 15:4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.

4. While salvation requires a laying aside of one's old values and morals and an embracing of a new Christ-centered existence, the new believer gains far more than he/she may lose.

Ephesians 3:17-19
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God.

John 10:9-11
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Psalms 37:3-5
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and truly you shall be fed.
4 Delight yourself also in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Psalms 16:11
11 You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fulness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Peace to you.

Why should a person follow Christianity?

Greetings.

A person should follow Jesus Christ himself, because he alone is the
way to God the Father (John 14:6), the only way to salvation
(Acts 4:12, John 3:36). This is because he alone died for our sins on
the Cross and rose from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians
15:1-4, Matthew 26:28).

One becomes a Christian by believing that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God (John 20:31), and that his sacrificial blood remits sins
that are past (Romans 3:25). A Christian repents from his sins and
becomes baptized into Christ by water (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-11)
and by the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:2,6, Acts 8:15-17). A Christian
learns and believes the whole Bible (Matthew 4:4, 2 Timothy
3:15-4:4, John 8:31, Acts 11:26b) and obeys the New Covenant
commandments of Jesus and God the Father (John 14:21-24,
Hebrews 5:9, Matthew 7:21, Romans 2:6-8).

Jesus is not just a man, but God Himself made man (John 1:1,14),
made our human high priest (Hebrews 2:17, Hebrews 4:15), the
human mediator between God the Father and man (1 Timothy 2:5).

Ah ok. That's a good reason to be a Christian. How does one become a Christian?

Receiving Jesus is a matter of truly asking Him to come into your life, to forgive your sins, and to become your Lord and Savior. It’s not merely an intellectual undertaking, but rather, an act of sincere faith and heart-felt will. Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible. Seek fellowship with other Christians. Find a local church where you can worship God and learn more. Develop a group of Christian friends to answer your questions and support you.

May the Lord bless you.

why are you looking for a religion, If I may ask?

and for christianity... it's just a religion like all the other ones. Religions were created to explain certain things, to entertain, to indoctrinate and gain power. They are bounded to the "nature" they are created in... (you know about culture><nature? if not you can message me about this)

so yeah... don't believe in anything, it's just fake

Because it has the most circumstancial evidence than anything in the world. Read, The Evidence That Demands A Verdict by Josh McDowell and Examine the Evidence by Muncaster (a former athiest). More reasons below.............

Biblical Circumstancial Evidence (Scratching the Surface Only)

Internal Evidences
Prophesies that are confirmed within Bible

- Life of Christ
The Tribe of Judah, Gen 49:10 - Luke 3:23-28
(Genesis was written 4004 BC to 1689 BC)
(Luke's time period is 60-70 AD)

Royal Line of David, Jer 23:5 -Matt 1:1
(Jeremiah 760 to 698 BC)/(Matthew 60-70 AD)

Born of a Virgin, Isaiah 7:14/Matt 1:18-23
(Isaiah 760 to 698 BC)/(60-70 AD)

**I can list at least 20 more of these.
-Rise of Empires
In the book of Daniel, Chapter 2 - four kingdoms are described in the interpretation of the dream of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greek - Daniel 8:21, 10:20) and a fourth great kingdom to follow - part iron and clay - which is the Roman Empire - during this empire Christ came and the church was established - Daniel 2:44.

-Historical Accuracy
The Bible is loaded with historical statements concerning events hundreds of years ago, yet has not been proven incorrect on any.
(Bible compared to other ancient documents):
New Testament - starts at 25 years - between original and first surviving copies
Homer - starts at 500 years
Demosthenes - at 1400 years
Plato - at 1200 years
Caesar - at 1000 years

Number of Manuscript Copies
New Testament - 5,686
Homer - 643
Demosthenes - 200
Plato - 7
Caesar - 10

Consistency
Written by at least 40 men over a period of time exceeding 1400 years, and has no internal inconsistencies.

Claim of Inspiration
It claims to be spoken by God, 2 Tim 3:16-17). No other religious book makes such claims.

External Evidences
(Prophesies Outside the Bible)
These cities were prophesied to be destroyed and never be built again.
Nineveh - Nahum 1:10, 3:7,15, Zephaniah 2:13-14
Babylon - Isaiah 13:1-22)
Tyre (Ezekiel 26:1-28)

Bible before Science
He hangs the earth on nothing - Job 26:7
(Job was written at least 1000 years ago - some scholars think it could be even 3000 years ago)
Note: Man only knew this for 350 years
Earth is a sphere, Isaiah 40:22
Air has weight, Job 28:25
Gravity - Job 26:7, Job 38:31-33
Winds blow in cyclones, Eccl 1:6

Documents that Prove Bible is True
Gilgamesh Epic, The Sumerian King List, Mari Tablets, Babylonian Chronicles

Archealogoical Finds
Excavations of Ur, Location of Zoar, Ziggurats and the foundation of Tower of Babel

Why Christianity?
Why should a person follow Christianity?

Rather than attain a right relationship with God through works/deeds, which is the common thread among other religions, in Christianity, you attain a right relationship with God when God accepts your total faith in Christ Jesus alone, and not in works.

Ah ok. That's a good reason to be a Christian. How does one become a Christian?

You become a spiritually born again Christian, a new creature, when God accepts your faith in Christ and spiritually places you "in Christ" where you undergo the circumcision of Christ and arise a new creature, a born again child of God, sealed with the Holy Spirit and kept by God for an inheritance of eternal life.

So when you repent and turn from trusting in yourself and the things of this world to trusting in God and His Christ, His anointed one, His lamb of God, Jesus who takes away the sin of the world, you make a commitment from the heart. One simple test as to your faith, are you reluctant to profess Christ before men? If you are, then your faith is not a total commitment, you must love God with all your heart and all your mind and all your understanding.

Two things are true about Jesus, He is the son of God which means He is God incarnate, so one can say the son of God is God the son. And the second thing is Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the anointed one chosen before the foundation of the world to be the lamb of God and pay a ransom for all, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

why would God make it that the only way to get to Him is through
a man?

The bible says there is no other way, but I do not think it explains why God chose this as the only way. If you are unwilling to trust in this way, and abandon whatever other options seem sound to your understanding, you need to think through the answer to your first question again.
