Correct. I was simply pointing out that Jesus started by asking if the rich young ruler had kept the commandments. He then went on to show what the young man should do to be saved. Jesus said to sell everything he had and give the money to the poor. Sadly, the young man loved his money so much that he did not want to give it up and follow Jesus. We must be willing to give everything up for Him.
