I HAVE PROOF THAT MUSIC IS INFLUENCED BY SATAN You probably have already heard the proof yourself, but didn't realize it

1st off im am comfy at my church. but that dosent meen i dont learn. seems like every sunday i learn something new. i love it because i did have this worng idea of God and jesus im only 19. im older so i can understand more but i by far dont know nearly as much as i need to. im workin on it it takes a life time to learn the right things.

2ed some music is influenced by satan. but when you tell me that my band that sings praise and love for God And Jesus is influenced by satan not God i take offense. we are a softer Rock Band but that dosent make a diffrence we love jesus and make that know through our songs. we also give good words to people who are having trouble in their life. so for you to say thats of the devil is worng and not at all truthful

I cant help but say something here. I'm not a catholic, pentecostal, or baptist. I'm not a nondenominational either. I'm just a desciple of Christ. A believer. After I got saved, I didn't know what denomination I wanted to be, so I shopped around. 25 years later, I still havent found one yet, that is even close to the ones described in the New Testament. People in general tend to look for a church where they feel comfortable. "Churches", and people who fill their pews, kind of represent God. We are His mouth, hands, and feet, to carry the gospel to all mankind. So, we look for a church where we are "comfortable". That's a very dangerous word. Why are we seeking comfort? Shouldn't we be seeking the truth? Instead of what makes us comfortable? Most people hate the truth. It makes them cringe. Jesus IS the truth. And they couldn't accept Him. They crucified Jesus because He spoke the truth. Most of us have this picture of who we want God to be for us. But God dosen't work like that. We are supposed to, "be conformed to the image of his dear Son", not the other way around. Proverbs is FULL of verses that tell us to GET KNOWLEDGE, and wisdom. And the Bible says "MY PEOPLE ARE DESTOYED BECAUSE OF A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE". Where does it tell us to seek comfort? But yet thats what we want out of church. People DONT want to be told they are doing something wrong, They fill their ears with worldly music, and when someone says it is influenced by satan, they dont want to hear what might be the truth.
There are only TWO powers in the world. God's power, and satans power. Is God the author of worldly music?

you are totally right if you are speaking of secular music that is influenced by satan and comes from the devil himself His job in heaven was to make music and he was good at it what makes you think he cant do it when he gets kicked out of heaven. and what makes you believe satan has so MUCH POWER arent u a child of God then his power is worthless against you right. Music is the number 1 influence on people and thats what the devil uses most times..not all music is bad and baptist dont hate the drums i went to visit a baptist church with my church yesterday and they had a set of drums...

Look, I'm not picking on you. I'm saying we should go to church for the right reason, and that is to "get fed", and not to hear what we want to hear. Our #1 priority should be to learn the deeper things of God, and to "rightly devide the word of truth". That means to be able to see what is truth, and what isnt.
Do you know how bank tellers can tell if money is real or fake? You would think they study the counterfeit money, right? Wrong! There's so much counterfeit stuff out there, they'd never be able to keep up with newer counterfeit money. No, they dont study anything. Their job is to count cash, thats all they do. And they been doing it for so long, that when anything other than the real thing comes along, it sticks out like a sore thumb! Thats how we need to be with the word! We need to learn the truth of the Bible, that way it will be easy to know what is not truth. Thats all I'm saying.

I would have to say I am somewhere between a Baptist and a Pentecost. A Bapticostal if you will, although there is no section for that. There are some teachings in each that I believe in, for example, when I went to a Baptist private school, the pastor said you had to be baptized by water to go to heaven. Now, I know that not all Baptist think that, but that is what he preached, so I did not get baptized for years because of it.

I love the fire in the people I saw in a Pentecostal church I went to, but some of the spiritual gifts did not seem right to me.

I do not like the “What religion or denomination are you?” question because they are all man made titles; divisions of God’s Church. I like “Christian” because I am seeking to be Christ like. But even the word Christian does not seem to have that definition with society today. All I know is that I want to be in heaven with my Savior.

Thats exactly what I was refering to, sorry I left out a few words. Yea, I went to a seminar one time, (back when it was only records and tapes), anyway, he had a special phono-graph machine that played records backwards. He showed us Rolling Stone magazine articles, where alot of musicians and bands were asked, "Have you ever used backward-masking". And of course the couldnt deny it. The subconscince mind is a funny thing. He also played records forward, and you'd be very suprised to learn what the lirics really mean. That was 25 years ago. It totally changed my view of music-worldly ( I keep forgetting that part!)

As far as satan and his power. You becha hes got power. Look at the story of Job. God told satan bsicly, you can take everything he has, just don't kill him.
It says, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against..." do you know the rest?
satan is also the "Prince of the power of the air..."
Jesus said, "Behold, I give unto you POWER to tread upon..." So yes, we do have authority over every bit of it. In my earlier post, I was trying to drive a point home, because many people havent encountered satans power. But it is as real as God's power.

Yea.. I used to go to a coffee house all the time. It's been years ago. I havent even seen any lately. This is a good place for one, There used to be one up the road, but Katrina wiped it out.

as a matter of fact yes. we have 12 that we made that dont sound like other songs that much. right now we are a 3 peice. looking for a leed Guitarist. Right now Shelly is going back and fourth between Guitar and keys. she also sings and does 90% of the writing. Josh plays bass and back up vocals and i am the drummer and am working on singing.

right now we are trying to get a demo cd made but its proving very hard. we do have a myspace but 2 of the songs on their are live and arnt a very good quality(one song the sound guy muted shelly) and the other one we messed up a bit on our own. and the 3rd song was done with the drums off a keybord and just a guitar but its ok. its myspace.com/threshhold1 if you wanna see..

Uuummmm, I cant remember. and I dont have a Bible in front of me. Ya caught me off guard that time sis! lol. I'm pretty sure its in the New Testament, lol. There, does that narrow it down for ya? lol. I think it's in one of the Johns. Not the gospel, but one of the three letters. I'll find it and let ya know tomorrow. Do you have a Stongs Concordance? Man, everyone should have one of those! It has EVERY word in the Bible in it. If you know just a few words of the scripture you want to find, you just look till you find it, and it gives the "address". Plus, it gives you a reference number, and you can go to the back of the book, and go to the number, and it translates it back to the orrigional language. That way, you can get the "truth" of the word.
If this book would have been around when the Bible was being written, I'm sure they would have included it in the "armor of God"! lol. Its a good study/reference tool that should be added to everyones arsenal

I did not wind up in a non-denominational church for the sake of being in one. My wife and I felt strongly led to an outward reaching church and we wound up at a non-denominational outreach mission in our home town; and are loving every minute of it!

To me denominations are more polotics the Christ. I prefere streight from the bible non denominational churches. there is less of the church polotics and more learning that way.

I was just wondering, where I live a lot of the non denominational churches follow some denomination, like some follow the churches that fall under the Pentecostal churches like Assemly of God and Church of God, ones like that, there's even one that follows the Lutheran church but they aren't affiliated with these denominations, are all non denominal churches like this? I'm just curious, I'm just here to learn.
