You are correct, it makes no sense at all. But we are seeing prophecy being fulfilled in that the nations are increasingly turning against Israel. The BDS movement is a racist movement. Anti-Semitism is the one socially acceptable form of racism in the world, today. This is especially true of the Left.

BDS is all about destroying Israel in the name of solidarity with the Palestinians, but that is just false pretext. They don't really care about the Palestinians. The Palestinians brutalize and murder each other, but that doesn't matter to anti-Semites. They are only concerned about the "plight" of the Palestinians when they think they use it as a platform upon which to smear Israel.

When the dust clears the Lord will sanctify His Name and the world will know that the Lord fights for Israel. These anti-Semites and BDS people will find out that you cannot break God's eternal covenant with Israel; you can only break yourself against it. They will find out that God is intensely zealous for Zion and they will find themselves at war with Him.

Pandering to the base. In the 1960s and 70s, when the Cold War was in full swing, the Palestine Liberation Organization allied itself with "the worst of the worst" of the radical left wing organizations of Europe. The Red Army Faction is an example. It was a case of "my enemy's enemy is my friend".

Those groups eventually died off when the Soviet Union collapsed from lack of KGB funding and support. But the ideological descendants of those groups among the far left still support the Palestinians over Israel based on those historic ties to the PLO, even though the modern generation no longer remembers why. It's like a vestigial organ left over from the evolution of the global politics of the 60s and 70s.

Actually, that is not true. There are over 2 million Palestinian citizens of Israel who enjoy full citizenship and enjoy things like full access to Israel's judiciary, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, universal healthcare. They enjoy benefits and freedoms that they would not enjoy in any Arab/Muslim nation in the Middle East. Muslim Imams are allowed to call for Israel's destruction in mosques that sit on sovereign Israeli soil.

Palestinians are doctors, lawyers, business owners, etc. And Israel has, three times (1936, 1947, 2000), voted in favor of an independent Palestinian state, but each time it was the Muslims/Arabs who shot it down.

Many on the left cater to Islam for whatever reason. Over the years it's impossible to not take notice that many of them are quick to say how bad Christians and Jews are bad because such and such, and then defend Islam as such and such. You win brownie points on the left if you stan (look it up) for blacks, gays, trans, Muslims, etc. They see it differently, but they are too transparent for anyone else to not see them for what they are.
