Why are SDA so paraoid of Jesuits?

I can't help but notice the subtle mocking of SDA theology here. This is interesting. it almost seems to me to be a "Do unto others" issue?

I was trying to keep track of my favorite ridiculous things, but I quickly lost count.

You know, say what you like about Jack Chick's historicity, but that wouldn't make for a half-bad movie.

I think Jack Chick is a brilliant Poe.

I wish I knew more about SDA. I have never had the opportunity to look into that denomination. However, I feel I need to point out just as there are many Catholic beliefs that people misconstrue, I am slightly disapointed to see Catholics having a big part in a thread telling what someone else believes.

It isn't telling Seventh Day Adventists what they believe, or even why - however, there is a little bit of the why in my posts and I freely admit that - it is observing that a few dozen threads that were started by one (or more) Seventh Day Adventists in GT are about how bad the Catholic Church is or will become or was. This thread is, I think, in answer to a thread about how pope Francis - being a Jesuit, as he is - will transform the Catholic Church into a Sunday Law enforcing persecutor of Seventh Day observers and thus bring in the end of days etc.

I love the Jesuits and would join their order if I were able...

I have one:

A Francisan and a Dominican were arguing about which order was most beloved of God...it became quite heated. Suddenly, there was a burst of light and a simple note fell down from the heavens. The Francisan picked it up and read it...a little disheartened he handed it to his Domincian brother. The note read:

The Jesuits were instrumental in the Counter Reformation, if I am correct off the top of my head. What would you expect them to do - sit quietly and let Luther and the boys do their thing? They held to a firm belief in their Church and wanted to instill a strong faith in others.

Heck, I put myself in their shoes - I want the same thing for MY church! So come on over to the Cross and Flame, everybody!!

Hmmm, I guess I didn't appreciate just how deranged Ellen White was. I knew she was a false prophet but I didn't know she had this wild, irrational, pseudo history paranoia thrown in.

I miss Pythons. He posted some interesting historical and current material from SDA sources.

There are many cases where we find Ellen White either #1 adding to the bible # 2 contradicting it, & # 3 Contradicting herself.

Take for instance her statement on Patriarchs & Prophetes pg. 45, were she claims that Adam's height was much greater than that of men who now inhabit the earth. This is an addition not found anywere in scripture... I always woundered why Moses failed to write this in the book of Genesis? Did the L-rd fail to reveal this to Moses? Did he have to wait much over 2,000 years to reveal it to some modern day prophetess? Who in the world gave Ellen White the authority to add to Moses writings when the Torah is complete as scripture clearly indicates.....

In Patriarchs & Prophetes pg 74, she claims that it was " Through an angel messenger that the divine warning was conveyed to Cain.. However the bible tells us that it was G-d himself and it does not indicate that any angel messanger was present.
