If you reject Jesus then you should know this forum is for Christians.
I don't reject Jesus, I'm pointing out that (according to a lot of christian doctrine) people are born unsaved, destined for hell, and God being God and doing exactly what he pleases, wants to torture us all. He doesn't do stuff he doesn't feel like doing. He is God.

Yet I fell pretty sure you would be opposed to me throwing my daughter in a bonfire if I caught her stealing candy. You'd probably call that unfair.
God punishes those who know to do right but refuse. He doesn't burn children in Hell forever.

A lot??? I've never heard any Christian say any such thing.

Whatever God's reasons are they are righteous. He offers mercy on those who repent.
Does that mean you don't know what reason God may have for sending people to hell? I would agree with that, because the reason can not in any way shape or form be 'justice'.

I suppose you believe God is good. Why do you believe that?

God is omniscient. Are you? Who are you to say God is wrong?

He is good to some, not all.

But most never heard the gospel to get a chance to repent?
Romans 1:18-20 (NASB)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

I'm not saying God is wrong, I am saying that he can not be good AND infinitely evil at the same time. I'm not omniscient, but I have a basic undertanding of good and evil.
He is good to some, not all.
Apparently.
Why do you believe that?

Your understanding is a drop in the ocean compared to God's.

Look around us. Evil almost everywhere. Massive death, destruction, starvation, war ... God allows it.

It's always interesting to watch finite creations try to discuss the Infinite Creator's intentions and whims...there is only one way for our tiny little brains to even begin to understand God. His Holy Word.

Job 26:14 "And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?"

May God Richly Bless You! MM

True. You say God is good. How do you come to that conclusion?

Indeed he does, and we can hope it's for an ultimately good purpose. However, hell isn't something God allows. It's something he's created, and HE decides who goes there and how long they will stay there. How can you believe God is good AND will torture most people forever?

Hell was created for Satan and the fallen angels/demons. Those who reject God, have by default sided with Satan. Those who do not repent of sin and accept Jesus's sacrifice are spiritually siding against God.

May God Richly Bless You! MM

My comment was "He is good to some, not all." Isn't it obvious?

I don't believe He will torture MOST forever, the majority, yes. But God does allow evil to exist. You will not figure out why God allows evil in this life. If you have received His mercy, be glad, VERY glad.

I disagree:
http://bible.cc/john/15-14.htm"You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." (John 15)

I think that so often we give up seeking out God's ways. We shrug and say, "well, that's just the way He is." But I don't think that that is what God wants for us (no matter how pious it sounds). He wants children who can enter into His work with Him. And how can we do that if we don't understand what He is doing? And how can we understand if we never ask?

How can we claim to 'know God' and then turn around and say we have no idea what He is doing?

very true, are we God? Then unless we can answer yes to that question, we really don't understand why God does many things.

Why is Haiti a living nightmare? Why are MILLIONS of children starving and homeless over the world? Why does sickness kill many innocents? Why does God allow MILLIONS of unborn to be exterminated? I can make a Biblical guess. But I do not know for sure. If you know why God allows children and innocents to suffer from EXTREME evils then tell us.

So why would God WANT to torture anybody (the vast majority of his creation) forever and ever and ever and ever?

thats like saying, why would a Judge want to give the death penalty. A true Judge never WANTS to condemn, but it's their Job.
