What meats did God create to be received? Not scavenger meats.

Myself, I think the key is hereIt clearly states in Deuteronomy 14:8 that we’re not to eat pork. In fact, Deuteronomy and Leviticus clearly state a lot of things that we don’t adhere to.
13:6 through18: We’re instructed to kill without mercy -even your own family members- anyone who tries to convince you to worship other gods.
17:2 through 13: Kill anyone who does evil-such as worshipping the stars- and violates the covenant. And if you’re not sure if the party is guilty, take it to court and if the Judge finds the party guilty and you refuse take part in stoning the defendant to death, then you should be killed too.
21:18: Kill your own son if he is rebellious.
Thou shalt not kill, but Deuteronomy, Leviticus, and Exodus is full of examples like this where we are to kill people for sinning. What about “as we forgive those who trespass against us”? I seem to have made executing people the theme here, but there are instructions/laws on other topics as well that we don’t follow, I’m assuming because they just don’t seem consistent with our faith.
So why is it OK to have a pork Bratwurst at the church fundraising event these days when God clearly forbids it?
You could argue that things were different back then and don’t apply today. But that would nullify the Ten Commandments. These laws I’m referring to were issued on the same day. They just didn’t make the top ten list.

Romans 14:5 One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn't eat, to the Lord he doesn't eat, and gives God thanks.
I definitely fall into the "all days alike" category, and I eat beef with the fat (unclean, I believe).
I believe the entire law (including the 10) is fulfilled by loving one's neighbor as oneself. If someone else wants to follow certain laws, that's fine. I've given up (hopefully) trying to get other people to live like I do (which I used to do a lot ).

Yeah, I would guess that it would be rare or if at all that a rebellious son would be executed. What parent would do that? What I'm interpreting from your response, though, is that, given how you defend the pork law, you think that a rebellious son, providing there are two witnesses (most likely the kid's younger sisters- lol), should be executed to this day per God's instructions. Is this correct?
Peter was told kill and eat, he said no lord I have never eaten anything unclean.

So when Jesus said that nothing that enters a man defiles Him, he was mistaken?
There are lots of things I won't eat because they are nasty. But that is not because of Divine Prohibition. Maybe God in wanting Israel to be different from all other nations around them selected critters that were more apt to make people sick- but that is not written so it is only a guess. They couldn't eat animals whose hoof was not split.
But those dietary restrictions as a matter of law were fro Israel alone and not for the Church. If a church member wishes to adopt the dietary laws, that is their freedom to do so, as long as they don't call it sin in the lives of others who enjoy a pork chop and lobster and clams.
Exactly, if you are an Israelite and under the old covenant.Romans 14:5-6 with context added back is to eating and not eating (fasting) on days that men esteem over other days. Nothing to do with anything else.
As to the biblical dietary laws? Well we have seen what happened with this global pandemic with people eating unclean foods. I personally believe God gave us His health laws for a reason and we should believe and follow them as with all the Word of God.

There are many fish that are considered clean, the scavengers, bottom feeders etc. are not clean.Scripture also prohibits eating aquatic animals in the same chapter, but Jesus served fish to 5,000 people during his ministry. If the dietary laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy were still in effect for everyone, that miracle (which began with three fish) would not have happened. So clearly the dietary laws changed.

So you can eat pork. Awesome.Why would I need to follow every law of the old covenant? We are in the new covenant now based on better promises, not the old. The old covenant laws for remission of sins are only a shadow laws that are fulfilled and continued in the new pointing to Jesus and His ministration on our behalf in the Heavenly Sanctuary as God's sacrifice for the sins of the world *John 1:29 and our great High Priest. No more animal sacrifices and sin offerings, no more Levitical Priesthood, no more earthly temple which was only a copy of the heavenly temple that the Lord pitched and not man *Hebrews 8:1-6. There is no pretending on my side so please do not pretend that there is.
Depends if we believe God's Word or not. Where does it say we can eat pork in the scriptures? I can only find this about eating pork below and in God's laws in regards to not eating pork in Deuteronomy 14:8 and it does not say we should be eating it although it seems many will be eating it and other unclean foods just prior to the second coming according to Isaiah...So you can eat pork. Awesome.
