The Church decided long ago that the 1000 years of the Revelation is not a literal one thousand years. The Nicene Creed was modified to read "whose kingdom shall have no end" regarding the kingdom of Christ, and the idea of a future millennium was abrogated.
To propose or to teach a future millennium is an error and is contrary to the Creed.
If you pay close attention ,the kingdom has no end.
After 1000 years Gog invades israel but is destroyed by God.
This does not bring an,end to the kingdom. It brought an end to Gog.
If you pay close attention, the Church abrogated the idea of a future millennium. It is not a part of Christianity.
That is too funny. If you have already been persuaded that it is not literal, why do you want to be convinced otherwise?
If you pay close attention, the Church abrogated the idea of a future millennium. It is not a part of Christianity.
Show where Paul, or Peter, etc, who would have been of the church as well, abrogated the idea of a future millennium. Their position on these things count as well.
The church?
Which chuch would that be?
There are millions of churches of hundreds of denominations.
Exactly which one are you talking about?
I need a good laugh.
I suspect he has no genuine desire to be convinced. That would be like me starting a thread entitled---convince me the Pretrib rapture is correct. And since I am already convinced it is not correct, it would basically be meaning that I'm playing mindgames with Pretribbers by starting a thread like that, giving the false impression that I'm open to the idea when I'm really not.
I am talking about the Church present at the Council of Constantinople. The Church that determined what the bible is. The Church that wrote the Nicene Creed.
So you believe that church knows more than God?
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
So what is there not to believe?
It is not God who is speaking, it is you.
Jesus Christ gave to his apostles the authority to lead and make decisions for the Church. That authority was handed down to their successors. Those same successors were the ones who decided what is and is not scripture. Those successors certainly had the ability to interpret that which they chose to be scripture.
At the abrogation of chiliasm the Creed was modified to remove any idea of a future millennium from the Church.
