Whose side was Norma McCorvey on? What we do know is Roe v Wade has led to millions of abortions

The supposed 'deathbed confession' by 'Jane Roe' that she was paid to be pro-life is disputed by many who knew her.

May 21, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – The internet is ablaze with reports that Norma McCorvey, who claimed to convert to Christianity and worked for years as a pro-life activist, was actually a paid puppet of the right, putting on an act all these years. So states a forthcoming FX documentary to be aired on Hulu. Yes, we are told that “Jane Roe’s Deathbed Confession: Anti-Abortion Conversion ‘All an Act’ Paid for by the Christian Right.”

Pro-lifers who knew her for years, to the point of becoming her family and close friends, categorically reject these claims. (See here and here and here and here.) How do we sort this out?

Let’s start with what we do know.

    Continued below.

I recorded an interview with her last night concerning this issue. I have not watched it yet but plan to this evening.

Rod Dreher on his blog has posted a letter from Federica Matthews Green which stated that she was truly pro life a few days ago. Matthews Green knew her personally.
Matthews Green pointed out something I thought of already, that if McCorvey had only been in it for the money she could have made a lot more money staying pro-abortion .

I watched the documentary last night. She came across as a very unstable person imo. Who knows how she really felt? I do not think she did. It depended on her mood and whatever side could do for her. *shrug*

I say this having not seen the documentary, as of yet. Who made it? We need to look at the source. My understanding is that those who made it are rabidly pro-abortion. It wouldn't surprise me if they cut and pasted things. Also, one has to look at the motives. Satan is a liar and the father of lies and I find the timing of this suspicious. I did read that Norma McCorvey had been abused as a child, and had a traumatic life.
I guess I trust the word of Father Frank Pavone, Federica Matthews Green and Flip Benham.
They knew her. Plus the pro life organizations really don't have a lot of money. Some of them are on shoestring budgets. She could have made a ton of money on the proabortion speaking circuit, writing books as being the poster child for the women's reproductive rights movement, etc.WALSH: Pro-Abortion Doc Claims Prominent Pro-Life Advocate Confessed That She Was ‘Acting.’ There Is Good Reason To Be Skeptical.

I'm skeptical but even if true it doesn't change the truth about abortion.
