My favorite charater is Pippin, but it was only after i read the books that he became my favorite character. In the movies, he was not give as large of a role. I have to say Frodo and Sam are also my favorites though.

I thought Bernard Hill played Theoden Ednew very well.

My favourite character from the books, way before the films were made, was always Strider / Aragorn. The films just confirmed that for me

Gandalf. If I were to live in a fantasy universe, I'd be a wizard.

First is Gimli, because you have get a laugh out of a short, stout dwarf.
Then I have to say Legolas is my second favorite.

Arwen. She could RIDE that horse......not scared a lick, and when she turned and faced her pursuers at the river with her sword raised and said if they wanted Frodo to come and get him, then spoke and brought forth the horses in the water that trampled the 'hoodies', and then prayed over Frodo, giving her grace to him........

All I can say is......You goooooooo girl!!!

My other favorites are:

Aragorn...courageous, noble, strong, sho' can fight, and wise.
Legolas....brave, sure-shot with the bow n' arrow, calm and focused.
