  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Talk about good timing, i just had an arguement with my very best friend who i love dearly about smoking.

She had promised me that she would stop, and she had for a year, until last night when seven of my other friends told me she had started again, and i talked ot her, and pleaded for her to stop. Me pleas were met with hostility and she stormed offline... i was feeling so unbelievably low, i was crying because i dont want to have to see my best friend in the cancer wards like so many others... and i put on the TTN radio station, and lo and behold, the song that has always filled me with inspriation and comforts me all the time began playing, from the beginning...

Thank you God....

It's a hard saying but:-
John 15:14: Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

and

Amos 3:3: Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Sure they need what God offers, but the only way they are gonna see that is if someone shows them they need it, someone who has something better than their crutch, someone who has what they seek in nicotine. Let them go, if they're his, they'll come back. Remember Lot's wife.

I can't abandon her though... she is my best friend, and she has seen me through worse problems and likewise. She used to be a christian, and she was the one who first introduced me to the idea that Church could be fun... unfortunatly, now she's a Pagan, by my doing.... ie, i kinda convreted her when i was a Pagan unwittingly...

I simply cannot let her go, she means more to me then any other friend....

But thank you, if you have any other advice, it would be greatly appreciated
