  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Amazon.com is offering all the adventures that have so far been put on dvd for $737.99 and says they would cost 819.98 bought individually. If you can afford that you're really rich.

Considering how many adventures that includes I guess it isn't too bad but looking at individual dvd costs the prices are absurd. Here are prices at Walmart which is as about as cheap as you can get: Robots of Death for
$21.37, Leisure Hive for $19.88, Genesis of the Daleks for $23.87, etc. Mean while this week WalMart plans to sell the new release of King Kong for $14.87 and the Chronicles of Narnia for $15.87. Most movies as old as the Doctor Who adventures I listed cost less than $10.

It's a rip off, that's what it is. Once I get my machine up and running (the one that transfers video to DVD), I may consider transferring over all of my husband's now very ancient tapes (when he caught them off air over the years).

I agree, Example, I've been getting Stargate SG1 Seasons 1-8 at around 35$ A Season (5 DVD's per Season 3-4 Shows per DVD + Extras on each DVD)

I just paid $44 for Stargate Atlantis first season so that's what I'm talking about also. Well, okay, I actually paid $14 plus tax because my company had a bingo night for staff and I won a gift certificate for $25 which I planned on putting down on Lost In Space (I have all but the last 1/2 of the last season on DVD) but they didn't have it, so Atlantis won out for first place on my list at that point.

Speaking of Stargate, did you see the commercial for MacGuyver. Okay, it was RDA playing himself as MacGuyver doing his MacGuyver things (forget what the commercial was selling but I thought it was very cute). Even my kids got the 'joke'.
