Of all the people who have ever lived throughout all of history, what person, apart from Jesus Christ, would you like to meet? He/she needn't be a religious figure. Why would meeting and talking with this person be such a thrill?

Dave

I wouldn't want to meet Jesus. He's not my type.

I'll go with Fred Rogers. I think he was probably the most decent "public figure" who ever lived.

when she was in college my daughter had to right a paper on a person who had a positive influence on her - she chose Fred Rogers.

Since the number one slot on my list is taken ("Jesus Christ" as the same is with most Christians), here is my list:

2. My Grandma, Evelyn Schrank: She died when I was ten years old, and I missed her dearly.

3. The Apostle Paul: All the hardships he went through, but his zeal to keep preaching the Gospel was amazing. His full story would be great to hear.

The rest would be a difficult choice, but when I get to Heaven there will be no rush to meet them all. There will be plenty of time available!

Nikola Tesla.

The man was ahead of his time, and still would be today. He practically invented the 20th century. He was a genius in more ways than one, and a great humanitarrean and idealist. He is my role model. I can only hope that one day my accomplishments even come close to his.

R.I.P. One of the greatest minds the world has ever known, Nikola Tesla.

I am shocked this question has not generated any answers. On another board, it swept the imagination of the members.

Let me start it off:
I would have liked to have met Audie Murphy because of his great heroism. So honored he is today, that there is a VA Hospital named after him.

Dave

The Apostle Paul- The most interesting and prolific of the Apostles.

Winston Churchill- An amazing author and leader.

Ulysses Grant- Just to see what made him tick.

Martin Luther- Had to have been an interesting and profound guy.

Abraham Lincoln and George Washington- What can I say, I'm a patriotic American who likes history. :)

Edit to add: Someone said Beethoven and I would give that a hardy second!

I would like to meet Keith Green and tell him how his music has touched my heart and brought me closer to the Lord.
I would also like to meet Joseph Merrick(The Elephant Man). Despite his deformity and all the taunting he went through, I read he was a devout Christian and that the Bible was his favorite book. I would like to hear his stories of how he kept his faith despite his circumstances. It makes me happy to know he has a new body in heaven with Jesus!

well... its hard to pick one. I guess I would chose the apostle Paul. He went through so much and was so filled with love and the Spirit. I would also like to ask him what he thinks about all of the different interpretations of his writings and what he thinks of my interpretation.

My second choice would be Mother Theresa. She was so full of love and compassion and fire for God - These alone were enough to inspire her to do so much... whereas I struggle to be more loving and patient and serving. She really is the epitome of who I'd love to be. God's made me myself tho... so maybe I'll just end up reminding people of her by my actions one day.

I guess I just want to ask them how they did the amazing things they did - & see what wisdom they have to offer.

Any of the twelve apostles would be very interesting to speak with, along with any of the Apostolic fathers (like Polycarp of Smyrna, Clement, or Ignatius of Antioch).

Other than religious figures, maybe Martin Luther King, Jr., because I respect him greatly and feel like it would be interesting to have a conversation with the great civil rights leader of the 1960s.
