Y
es, I agree that Mankin didn't do anything inappropriate by starting his poll.
I have to disagree here. you were a mod at one point and you are of age and you have the respect of many in the forum. you were also contacted by the Admins. I think that changes issue. I don't think that a child should be allowed to make a major change in the forum on a whim. Now if the authorities tell you that is another thing. I don't see how his poll helped the unity of the forum it divided it.

Ice, have you read what everyone is saying about Mankin's poll.

Look at this poll: http://www.christianforums.com/t5795273-should-the-sda-forum-be-split.html

It was started on July 27th at 6:22 PM.

Here's Mankin's poll: http://www.christianforums.com/t5797555-since-this-forum-looks-like-it-is-going-to-be-spilt.html

It was started on July 30th at 5:14 AM.

His poll was in RESPONSE to Sophia's and at the time...the vote was leaning toward splitting the forum.

Ice, I cannot explain to you the motherly instinct. If Mankin were my son and he had started that poll, your response to him would've kicked in every motherly instinct I have.
mankin is not your son and you the forum mother. you are obviously thinking emotionally, rather then rationally. and you are just bein dominering now.

He's 15. You are in your thirties. I think you told my son you are 36?
You made an assumption that Mankin started that poll out of nowhere when there was a poll about the same thing already going on....the other poll was started by ADULTS and it was started FIRST.
No i did not, I thought it was inapproparte. as stated. when I was his age I would not have made such a bold statment.

You also called your brother a fool and then denied it.
I did not deny it i did not remember it. there is a difference. I don't think of DL as my brother. espically when he goes out of his way to attack me.

I realize some people are just as (if not more) brazen than you are, but it does matter that you are running for moderator.

I will never, ever sit by and watch someone malign a child without saying something. I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you just haven't been around much and when you came back you'd realize what you had done and apologize.
This is just nutty. This is the first day I have heard anything about it. You are just over the top.

I
nstead, you started a poll about the sky not really being blue or something. Did anyone go off on you for that poll?
That poll was started as a mocking joke of all the polls that were being started. it was poking fun at how poll taking was out of had. It did not effect the opperation of the fourm. I think you have a weeks worth of frustration built up and it was one of the reasons I bowed out. I did not want that happening to me.
Scripture says it is better to have a millstone around your neck than interfere with children coming to Christ...whether that person is a literal child or a child in Christ/faith.
oh please the kid is not going to loose his faith over me telling him to be quite. if he does he was never a christian to beging with. That is just scriptural abuse
As a moderator you will be an example, and it would really, really mean a lot to me if you'd apologize to Mankin and OntheDL.
Look I have already aplogized did you not ever read the posts.

Second If you are going to be this zelous about how people treat me? No. you do not hold others accountable. you are being a zelot

Mankin's poll wouldn't have changed anything.

He was merely asking who would go to the Progressive forum and who would go to the Traditional forum if we split.
he should not have started it to being with

I figured you'd PM and express your apology. The chances of them going through this thread post by post are slim and none.

Ice, when I see anyone mistreat another person on this forum, I SAY SOMETHING. Ask Night.

I had to go to a family member on here over something that was said to him.

I also scolded him for saying something to DJ that I didn't feel DJ deserved.

I am not quiet when I see someone getting the raw end of the deal and I don't care who it is.

I don't always do it publicly, but I DO do it.

If you're mistreated and I see it, you bet I'll say something.

Ask MVA about my very first PM to him. It was "hi, welcome to the forum....now STOP doing that!"

He and I are great friends now, but it could've gone either way. If he had gotten mad at me telling him to stop doing what he was doing, I don't imagine he'd like me right now.

He took accountability. That is a quality I don't see a whole lot of anymore.

Then why did you apologize?
because I was convinced that my tone was to harsh. I did not say what I wanted to say in the right way. For that I apologized already, it was a mistake. You need to let go. It is over. you are not going to ride me like NIght was ridden?

you obviously are not reading the same thread I am. It
was DL that you need to be talking to. DL is the problem, but because I am a progressive i am to blame. you want me to play a mayter. It was DL who tried to insult me by implying I was Tall73 sidekick, by calling me "robin" implying I was second fiddle to "Batman"

Mayter--isn't that a veggie you put between two slices of bread with Vegenaise for a delicious sammich?

HEY!

Alright, I need to clarify something here. Yes, Trust PM'd me and 'suggested' that I apologize to Conklin. But ultimately I did it because I saw that I had unfairly misjudged his post.

No one manipulates me to do anything I don't want. I'm the boss of me! So there! :)

I have to agree with T&O on this. Mankin started his poll in order to get a head count of who would be going where if the forum split (which it looked as if it would do at that point). He wasn't trying to change anything about the forum structure.
