We need moderators in here that we can trust. They ought to be people of integrity, that will not show any kind of favoritism at all.

If you would like to be a mod in here please make that known in this thread. Don't be shy!

If you feel that the Holy Spirit is calling you to this work, then step up to the plate.

Once we get a list of names from which to choose, we can then put up a poll and vote, to determine who will be given the difficult task to moderate this forum.

There are two people that I know for sure will not play favorites.

I would like to nominate jtbDad and Tall73

If you are in agreement with this please make it known. If you have other people in mind, please make that known. If you would like to be a moderator, then please make that known.

I think it would be good if we could get at least 4-5 people to moderate this forum.

I have another idea which has to do with FSBs, but that will come later. First we need to get some moderators in here that we know can be trusted to do what is necessary to uphold the rules of this forum.

I also vote for Jtbdad and Tall. Tall will bring the smackdown on either the Traditionals or the Progressives if they need it.

I also think Mjona3, Reddogs and TrustAndObey would make good mods. However, I would have to be absolutely assured Red and Trust would not show partiality or favoritism to the Traditionals. Trust has said she could be impartial, so I will take her at her word.

As well, I think Icedragon would make a good mod, but I don't see the Traditionals ever agreeing to that.

My friend jtbdad has resigned from staff and no longer posts at CF. I heard from his son this evening that he has some serious health issues. He and his family could use your prayers

He seemed like a nice guy, I pray for the best for him and his family.

I appreciate the nomination Night.

Right now I'd love to be a mod, but I start back to college in 20 days and even though this semester isn't going to be a hard one, it will still be time-consuming.

When I start nursing school next fall it will be full-time and probably take every spare minute that I have.

I won't have much time at all to be here this week because I'm learning Spanish, and this is one of my rare waiting to wake up the kids moments where I actually have a second to just surf. :)

I already gave IceDragon the "grill" about being a mod and I really do think he'd be fair. I asked him the tough questions that I'd ask anyone else considering the position, and his answers were right in line with who/what I feel a mod should be/do.

However, since then he said he would kick Honor out first thing, so unless I see an apology to her, I will not vote in his favor.

I also think he needs to apologize to Mankin and Woob, and clear all slates before I make a decision.

The biggest thing going for Ice right now is that he WANTS the position and that's half the battle right there!

I do understand that people say things in the heat of the moment that they wouldn't normally say though, and I totally understand his frustration right now.

It would just mean a lot to me to see him apologize now that the "heat" has died down.

Real quick...something else that concerns me:

Any mod that we vote in is obviously going to be aligned with one belief system or the other, and we have to consider that any reports we send in COULD (but surely won't) be shared with others.

Confidentiality, willingness, and fairness would be the three key factors I'll be looking for in a new mod.

I'll be a sideline cheerleader at this point though, seriously. I HAVE to learn a lot more Spanish in 20 days and I really need to finish painting my bathroom.

I thought we'd be way done by now, so I'm not bailing, I just put all this stuff off too long already.

I don't know if she has time for the position, but SassySDA does a remarkable job of moderating on a huge board about prisoners (as Jesus said....help the least of the brethren)....and I'd like to nominate her.

You won't ever know a person with more ethics than her, or at least I sure don't. She's FAIR, she's STERN, and she doesn't make exceptions for anyone.

So, SassySDA...my nomination.

Before we run ahead of ourselves. Should the nominations receive a second or are we going on the premise of implied seconds?

It is best to nominate those who we believe would be able to carry out this work in a just manner. We can then ask these people if they are willing to be mods. If they say yes, we will then take it to a poll to allow for a final decision.

I was asking a different question. (I used to be a Robert's Rules of Order buff.) Normally, if I nominate you someone has to second my nomination for your name to be considered. For example, Honor just seconded T&O's nomination of Sassy.
