Jews found freedom and an oppertunity to thrive in the Ottoman Empire that they found no where else in the world. Well Christian Europe was persecuting them, slaughtering them, burning them at the stake.... they fled in droves for the Ottoman Empire and were higly successfull. They influenced and held some of the highest positions in government, practiced their religion freely and openly.... they enjoyed all this that for 1500 years they were denyed in Christian Europe.

For what it's worth, I agree with you about leaving it in Jewish hands, which is not a popular concept.
I think the UN is untrustworthy, as they have failed dismally in the past, and the radical Muslim Palestinians are trying to obliterate other faiths from Jerusalem, not tolerate them.

I find it odd you would say this. Israel has destroyed several churches, several holy sites and routinely desecrates Christian shrines though out the holy land.

Let us not forget that the holy land was in “Muslim” hands for almost 1400 years and our churches still stand where they did 1400 years ago.

This is so ludicrous - was it not the Palestinians who literally pooped all over the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Did they not drive out the Christians so that it's almost totally muslim. Have they not removed truckloads of archeological material from the TEMPLE MOUNT under the cover of night? Have they not literally trashed East Jerusalem with their rubbish and lack of services. As my mother used to say, you can be poor but soap is cheap.
