I voted for all of the above. A persons sexuality (or lack of sexuality if they are a-sexual) or their religious beliefs does not have any bearing on if they can bring up a child. I would love to adopt with my partner once we are into our 30's and feel we could give a child a great home.

The only circumstances I feel where someone is not fit to be a parent are when they have personal issues that effect the child, or if they are the type of family to encourage religious extremism (of any faith) in a child.

I voted for all of them. I have a friend who was brought up by two moms and they were good parents. I've heard of many kids being brought up by gay/lesbian parents who never had an issue. If the child is happy, well adjusted, and loved by his or her parents, then why try to argue with it?

I think its already been proven that parents, regardles of religion, can bring up very well adjusted children. So I don't have an issue with that either.

I voted for all. If two lesbians, or two gay men, are good people who would love the child unconditionally, why not let them adopt? There are just too many children out there waiting to be adopted, to only allow heterosexual, married Christian couples to adopt.

Confused parents raise up confused children.

Except the post was referring to homosexuals, not "confused" parents. If someone can provide a loving home for a child, they should be allowed to adopt, regardless of their sexual orientation.

When a man or woman cannot git it right in their minds with whom it is moral, and right, and designed by God to marry and date, and to copulate with- they should not be allowed to adopt children.

Why should adoption be denied to someone based on their sexual orientation? If they can provide a loving home for a child, they should be allowed to adopt. There are lots of children out there waiting to be adopted, and adoption shouldn't be denied based on sexual orientation. That would be discrimination.

This is tough.. We can't avoid kids being brought up in non-christian homes, probably hard raising kids Christian in Christian homes, but legally, any parent that is able to take care of the kids should be allowed to adopt. It is not right to deny homosexuals the right to adopt. Spreading the "gay-ness" is a dumb point, considering we all have our problems. Someone correct me..

...and let me ask you this then. Are you against abortion? Would you rather a child stay in a foster home or state care than be with loving people permanently?

Sorry I cant see how I can agree with any of that. So presumably that would count Mother Theresa and Billy Graham out, or who did you have in mind as Christian extremists. As Jesus says we must give up everything to be able to make Him Lord of our lives, I fail to see how Christians could not be extremists.
But as a Christian I believe Jesus Christ is the truth, the way and the life, so I would expect Christians to believe religious belief does have a bearing on bringing up a child, especially preferring within a faithful man/woman union as God’s created purpose, (Gen 2, Matt 19, Mark 10, Ephesians 5)
