not me, a lot of it is cheesy, but like the person above me said there are some artists I like. I listen to this one Christian radio station when I'm driving to work in the morning b/c they do have a lot of variety in Christian music and artists on the morning show and their morning show is cleaner than listening to some of the other garbage morning shows out there, and it's not too soccer mom. :D

i really like it alot and helps me throughout the day. i have many favorite bands and singers. currently my favorite bands are barlow girl, switchfoot, casting crowns, passion group, and kutless. my favorite singers are rebecca st. james and michael w. smith. i love listening to the lyrics and they are some beautiful inspirational lyrics that build me up spiritually.

I mostly listen to christian music ´cause I appreciate good lyrics. I don´t really get anything out of non-christian music ´cause I get tired of the lyrics so soon. It has to be really good if I bother to listen to it! ;)

However, I listen to alternative music, for the most. Frankly, I hardly have anything good to say about the Wow-cds hehe... :sorry: Sorry, if someone likes... :D

When I became serious about my walk with God, the first thing to change was what type of music I listened to. I didn't even have to try either because I think God made it easy for me to stop listening to secular music.

I now almost exclusively listen to only types of Christian music: rock, pop, worship, etc. I used to listen to Dance, Electronica, R & B and Rap. I occasionally will listen to a secular radio station, BUT I notice right away how much JUNK is out there: in the songs and in the ads. It can affect you more than you realize. I live in a college town and I don't need temptation or reminders to go out for 2-4-1 drinks at the Club.

nup. Most of it is really bad, in my opinion.

Ya I've realized that! The other day somebody was playing some music at work some oldies stuff and it seemed like every other song I could say ''oh i know this song this christian band redid it and acted like they wrote the song wa back when'' seriously I had no idea how many songs christian artists have ripped off over the years. Its just stupid if you asked me, we say we serve the ''creature'' of the universe but we arent creative enough to write an original song.

I refuse to listen to the christian music station in my area. Its called Klove, holy **** talk about cheesy, soccer mom, playing the same songs for the last 5 years, not playing anything but mellow mellow music, oh my goodness its the worst ever. I'd rather listen to silence of the road then that ****, even if they just played worship music it'd be much better then that.

I used to listen to only Christian music, then I realized that some of the songs didn't really seem edifying to me, and they had the same effect as secular music. So I listen to secular music again now, but I'm careful with what I listen to.

Forsure, a lot of christian music theres no way its up lifting and edifying. I dont see the point to much of the stuff that is out there.

I also dont get anything out of most nonchristian music. I listen to MOSTLY all christian music, but even then I'm very picky about the christian music I'll listen to, not because I think that its a bad influence, just cause I think its crappy music that sucks. I listen to probably 90% christian then a viriaty of other stuff that would probably mostly be undefined e.i jazz, guitar stuff.

I also hate the wow cds, they are all that the radio station in my area plays. seems like they just put it on repeat. I could live without the wow cds.

(i dont know who that is or whatever its just what she said).

Thats really true about how much music really affects people. I just dont like to see people who listen to only non christian music that are christians and then act as if they arent affected by it. They've just become num to it, everybodys different and to each his own, but for the most part I prefure to listen to christian music and my friends are the same way. The best music I've found is in christian music but the worst is also.

The artists that really tap into the creativitly and stop copying everybody else I think some of them are the best of the best. The best christian artists beat the best non christian artists in my opinion. BUt they are few and far between.

I only listen to Christian music. I was heavily into secular music such as the Smashing Pumpkins and Silverchair who I still really like but God told me to quit listening to secular music so over the last 4 months I have stopped. It was difficult but I have found some bands I really like. And it's really edifying. It has led me to want to be in a Christian band. I am a drummer and God has called me to be in a Christian band and seek to witness to the lost. I want to create some amazing music that will really cut to the heart of non believers but music that will really draw them. It's been awesome how God has directed me and how he directs our life.

I listen to 99.99999999999999% Christian Music. Mainly nothing but my choir music, or Southern Gospel, southern Quartets, and bluegrass gospel.

I guess you can tell i'm notun but a good ole country boy. :D

I do listen to AFR (American Family Radio) whenever I get a chance. They tend to mix things up a bit.

I got away from the secular music because it got to the piont where it was like listening to porn on the radio to me.

JMO tho'

Peace

Christian music is often defined by the lyrics in the song. Usually something positive about aspects of christianity. By the definition of music (notes, pitch, rhythm etc), I would say there is no such thing as "christian music" because it's not defined by a certain sound. There's Christian Rock, Christian Pop, Christian Jazz, Christian Blues etc. It's not the MUSIC that defines whether it is "christian" or not, it's the lyrics. Another way that Christian music can be defined is by the artist that is creating the music. I would stick to the latter definition... because I think then you could say that the music is christian, because of the heart creating it. But I don't know what I'm talking about, lol!

But I think that "Christian Music" suffers in the same way that secular music does... in that often the "underground" music is better than the mainstream. In my opinion.
