For some people it is the Bible but I do not called it vain book its the Word of Truth, God Truth, and a few word its called. On it pages of truth but it is never called the Holy Bible.



Why do you think is so people have been worshiping this since 1500 AD and what is it? In 1611 the King James was wrote but the the book earlier but look at King James Bible.

May I suggest that you read the foreword to the Authorised Version of the bible, or study how we got the bible.

King James the first of England appointed a committee to translate the bible into English.
Because he authorised this translation by his expressed command that version of the bible is known as the King James's bible.
Prior to his predecessor on the throne of England, Queen Elizabeth 1st reign it was illegal in England to have the bible in English.

This is basic Church history that you should know.

If it's true that we have free will, then everybody serves the exact same God...themselves. In the end it doesn't matter whether you're the addict, the priest, or the atheist, we're all doing what we freely choose to do whether we recognize that fact or not.

If you're the final arbiter of your choices, then the God that you're serving is yourself and everything else is subservient to you, not the other way around. You serve God, or drugs, or science because you choose to...ultimately you are the God that you serve.

That specifies something different.

Yet, you can't fathom someone having priorities without the top one being their god. Let's look at your examples...

An addict's substance is their god. That would make money, and people who might help obtain funds, a priority.

A person who makes themself their god would have a priority of being in the spotlight, and always having a crowd around them to adore them or having some situation where they can always assert control over their environment, or the people in their environment. That would be their priority. Not their god.

So the person who has heroin as their god prioritizes obtaining heroin. My point stands.
So the person who has their self as god prioritizes feeding that self with adulation. My point stands.

Everybody has a god. The Bible calls these things idols as they take the place of God Almighty.

I find it very interesting that you publicly declare yourself an atheist on this site. You declare yourself a Christian on other sites and I have always disagreed with that Christian claim.

What would my god be? I am an atheist but introverted and not at all interested in being in the spotlight or having a crowd around me. I do enjoy engaging in these types of discussions, but so does everyone here (both Christian and non-Christian) so that is no indication of my alleged god.
Also, there's nothing wrong with me declaring my atheist on this site so long as I don't post in certain areas designated for Christians only. And where on Earth do you think that I've declared myself as Christian on other sites. Name one or please retract that claim.

What is your definition of God?

I'm not exactly sure what @Think...'s definition of God is, but based upon the following:

Everyone has a god. Whether it is our self that we exalt in our lives, substances (addiction), science or any other 'thing' that we put the majority of our reliance, and regard, into, we all exalt something in our lives to the status of our most important god.

@Think...'s God is himself, as is true with a great many theists. I say this because it seems as though the most important thing in their lives is proving that they're right, and everyone else is wrong. That's pretty much the definition of an egocentric position...I'm right and everyone else is wrong.

Such a position isn't about serving and exalting God, it's about serving and exalting oneself.

If you just want to convince your worldly friends/family members, you don't have to act at all, nor study anything, just tell them you're a Christian and spout a few Christiany things here and there and everyone will buy it. Churches are full of people who have studied their bibles far more than you have, yet I'm guessing that you'll disagree with 99% of them. So obviously studying the bible isn't the answer. All that does is get you bogged down in the weeds of your own personal biases. As with most things, people see what they wanna see, and that goes for Catholics, or Protestants, or you. You see what you wanna see, and no amount of bible study is going to change that, it's only going to make it worse.

You're just another in a long line of self-proclaimed bible experts who thinks that that gives them the authority to judge the Christianity of everyone else. I can hardly make any sense out of the OP. But the thread title it raises a good question. Or maybe better would be what is you image of God like. It has very little to do with King James. The Bible existed in Latin, Greek and Hebrew long before he came around.

And some of us find light in other religions and philosophies as well as the Bible.

The God I worship is an infinite loving mystery who lives in all of us. We are all expressions of the great creativity of that infinite consciousness. In God "we live and move and have our being." Acts 17:28

What is the good news of Jesus? That God is loving, forgiving, and close at hand.

What is your God like.

On the contrary, it's just the opposite. Even for the majority of full time Pastors today. They go to church long enough to get recommended to a Seminary/University. They are taught specific portions of the Bible, exactly like churches teach. They come away with an 'idea' of how to lead, and Preach to, a congregation and if somebody likes their style (they are entertaining and/or funny on stage), they are hired on to a church full time.

The majority have NEVER read their Bible cover to cover, on their own, without having had it taught to them by man. Those who do realize they are being fed lies and being told to go teach those lies to thousands and they object and are not hired on anywhere. Some read it later and object and are let go from the churches that picked them up.

As far as the congregation, almost NOBODY has read their Bible. Literally like 0.0001%.

Our Truth is the same as your truth. For the most part. There are just aspects of our Truth that are beyond the possible measurements of science. Only the most inexperienced Christians fall into the trap of trying to prove God to an unbeliever. That is the epitome of a waste of time and energy.

For one, the Bible declares that Faith is a gift. So unbelievers are not capable of believing in God if they have not been chosen to do so. God made it that way on purpose because there are two different kinds of people in the world in His eyes and He wishes to keep those two separated. So He maintains enough evidence for the unbelievers to continue in their unbelief, and He establishes plenty of evidence for His believers to continue to grow in their belief.

Regardless of that, there are very many Truths in this world that prove the Bible that are historically, and scientifically, proven; and have been proven repeatedly for thousands of years. You see it is those Truths that bolster the Faith of Christians. When they begin to see and understand the spiritual, more abstract, Truths, then they turn and find confirmation in the physical Truths of the rest of the Bible to help them to believe the spiritual concepts they are being shown in the Spirit.

So there is plenty means for a believer. And there will always be plenty cases to be made against the legitimacy of such means for the unbeliever.

Most professed Christians believe it is a choice that people can make because that is what the mainstream churchianity teaches.

Acting like a Christian is not important if you are not a Christian. If you are, it will not be acting.

Those who are chosen and given faith have an irresistible desire to study Scripture; just as we have an irresistible desire to learn more about a person we fall in love with. It is not acting when it's real and you don't learn all you can about someone you're in love with simply for the sake of passing muster with the people you inform about your love for them. You do it because you have sincere interest and it is irresistible.
