When the Lord, Jesus Christ, was sacrificed upon the cross and died who did he intend to redeem and who did his death in fact redeem?
Was it:
- The elect alone, known only to God
- All mankind
- All of creation excluding the fallen angels
- All of creation
- Other; tell us who the others are, please.
1 Peter 3:18
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
Romans 6:10
For the death he died he died to sin,
once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God.
Hebrews 9:28
So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life
Repentant believers shall be saved.
Colossians 1:13-14
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Romans 3:24-26
And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. Revelation 14:4

It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as first fruits for God and the Lamb,
He died for all ... but not all will receive Him as Lord and Savior.
