During the most recent Ice Age, over 10,000 years ago, Northern Africa was wetter. Archaeologists found evidence of a wetter climate. Since then the globe has warmed, the glaciers have receded and the area became arid. Parts of the Sahara get less than a tenth of an inch of rain per year. Praying for rain in those areas is a waste of time.I sometimes wonder whether God or Satan is currently in control of this world.
Let me give just one example: A famine in Africa. We’ve all seen the pictures on TV of people starving to death; even children. Now we could say that this is all man’s fault because if everyone worked together on the continent of Africa, it could be one of the wealthiest continents on the planet. Think about it – Africa has precious minerals like gold, diamonds, a desert area where sunshine could be turned into electricity, wetter areas to grow crops, wonderful beaches and game reserves for tourists, oil for fuel and so on. But instead of working together for the common good, we see corruption, fighting, barbarity in the name of a god called “Allah”, etc. So we could put the blame 100% on man’s actions. But what about if a significant cause could be attributed to lack of rainfall. It begs the question, why doesn’t God at least send rain to help people grow their crops and feed themselves? Or is Satan being allowed to wreak even more misery that he has already done since the fall of creation? Or (third option), is the planet running on autopilot and as such, these things are bound to happen? Has anyone any ideas on this that they could share?
God NEVER gave Satan permission to mess with people!
The Book of Job is a parabolic work, it's not a real story silly.
I don't belive that God is in partnership with evil. It was not Gods will for Satan to rebel and mislead. Besides, Satan is gone.Say's Who? There are plenty of Bible scholar's who say that Job was a real person and the story is real. Putting that aside the teaching of the story is not parabolic, God gives Satan power over some people to test them.
How about from 1911-2011? After all a century is 100 years. Compared to the previous 100. Are they saying it was 22 per 100,000 between 1911 and 1945? Also if we fast forward into the future, the industrial age beginning in the 19th century and possibly ending with a future technological age will count as one epoch. On the matter of how war and violence have changed over time:
From an article in Boston Globe:
For nearly two-thirds of a century, from 1945 to 2011, war had been in overall decline. The global death rate had fallen from 22 per 100,000 people to 0.3.
That's what Satan wants people to believe, that he is just an allegory. It's all part of his deception.People who seek God's wisdom and advice may find the truth and do better for having believed. When there is failure, they say it is the Satan's work. The word Satan is part of a metaphor or allegory.
Fair point. The attached chart may be a little hard to understand, but the height of each dot represents the death rate in the conflict represented by the dot. The chart represents wars from 1400 to 2000. We know that that the last 60 years have seen a dramatic decline in death from war. I suggest that the chart show that things are certainly not getting any worse, on average. How about from 1911-2011? After all a century is 100 years. Compared to the previous 100. Are they saying it was 22 per 100,000 between 1911 and 1945?

And that would be what books?

1 John 5:
We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.

Galatians 6:7 ►
New International Version
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
1 Timothy 6:10
9Those who want to be rich, however, fall into temptation and become ensnared by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. By craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Romans 8:22
21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time.

Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
