Who here likes Matthew Henry's commentary?

i often use his commentary, and he has great practical insight that sets him apart from other commentators.

And to top it off, he's Cavinist (was Presbyterian) 9. I often use his works to write my devotions.

I love Matthew Henry's work,I have the full 6 vol version and the abridged 1 vol.


The full version is best.

I often go to MH the first,but only if I am feeling lazy or stuck with something, he shines.

Bibledatabase.com has the concise commentary--it has lots of biblical resources made to fit its software.

Also, biblewgateway.com has it (complete and concise) and many others.

You can now buy Gills works on cdrom,also some very interesting work by Skepp and Brine.


I am a big John Gill fan,I have his full commentary as a victorian set,and also in it's original BIG Folio edition,he pastured a Baptist Church 30 minutes drive away from my home.
