Who, from the Bible, would you want to go to lunch with? Why?

I think I'd like to do lunch with Peter. You see, I think a lot of us are like Peter in certain ways...we all want to be followers of Christ, but there's a little "rebel" in many of us. Peter was somewhat unpredictable. It would be fun to watch his reaction if his soup was cold...would he "blow up" at the waitress? And when the bill came, would he draw his sword if our lunch seemed to cost too much? Yes...a very unpredictable person, yet managed to always get it together and be a leader. I'm sure lunch with Peter would be very interesting and very informative.

I would want to chat with King David. He suffered alone in the wilderness (which led him to write the psalms) while maintaining his faith even though everything was against him. He overcame incredible odds and not only went from a shepherd boy to the king of Isreal but God also promised that from his lineage would come a savior, and that is why our Lord is from the line of David.

I'd have to go with Solomon, since he was the wisest guy to ever live on earth (Other than Christ of course.)

I'd probably spend my time with him asking ----->"ALOT!"<---- of questions. Specifically about life and such...

But since he wrote alot of his wisdom in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, I suppose my second bet would be Enoch, since after all, he "WALKED WITH GOD!" I mean how amazing is that...How many people did God just up and decide to snatch up from the earth? (Other than Elijah)

You never know... their could be others that weren't mentioned in the Bible, even people in our time! I want to know how they got such favor from God, because that would sure be nice to not have to die!

I know this isn't an advice topic but I didn't know where else to post it. I was listening to the radio and this has been the question of the week. So, b/c I like starting threads, and I'm interested in people's responses, I figured I'd ask CF.

So, if you had to choose one person from the Bible to lunch with, who would it be and why? And, to make it interesting, you can't pick Jesus or God. :D

My answer: It's a toss up between Job and Jonah but I will go with Jonah. I'd ask him to share all of the details of what it was like to be in the belly of the fish (i.e what he saw) then get tossed out.

Jesus is God.

Martha, Mary, Mary Mother of God, Solomon, Joshua, Moses, Elijah, Abraham, James.

Outside of Bible: Joan of Arc, Francis of Assisi, Catherine, Margaret, to name a few.

I know I already gave mine but I want some more lunch dates....

Nobody1 reminded me of several and I am with him on some of his...
Martha (I understand her problem) Mary (what it was like to sit at His feet), Mary Jesus' mother,--what all did she ponder in her heart (love that phrase)! Joseph--how was it to teach Jesus as a young boy. How frustrating was it? Did they truly understand that He was the Son of God?
Yeah, I would say we are going to have fun talking up in heaven!

Joseph -- he came up with ingenious solutions and insights, and adapted to situations. He made his life in slavery and in royal administration, and neither extreme seemed to faze him.

Similar to Daniel I would guess. I will let Joseph invite him.

 :D
