I find the whole mega pyramid period which lasted only around 100 years within a 5,000 year period very strange and unbelievable that it was done with the existing tools in the records which were basically small copper saws about 3 foot long, copper chisels, pounding stones, small wooden sleds about 20 foot long and hemp rope.
Khufu was suppose to have built the Giza pyramid in 25 years. That includes planning, training and then leveling the bedrock, laying down a basalt pavement big enough to incorporate the pyramid as well as a massive pavement out front. Cut the blocks at the quarry miles away, transport all the rock slabs some as big as 1500 tons that made the large statues and Obelisks.
Cut the blocks, haul them onto the pyramid. Oh forget they had to dig into the bedrock first to make the underground shafts and chambers as well. Someone worked out just for the pyramid blocks it would have required one block finished and layed every 5 minutes for 24 hours a day for 25 years.
Sneferu was suppose to have built 3 mega pyramids,
Bent Pyramid,
Red Pyramid and
Meidum pyramid in around 40 years. The other great pyramids the 2nd and 3rd pyramids next to the Giza pyramids were all built in around 80 years. Add to this the first pyramid of Djsor the Djsoer pyramid which was sort of a pyramid but built like a mega Mastaba its only 100 years of building all these works.
But you have to remember that along with these pyramids came the all the mega structures like 100 foot and 1,000 plus ton statues and Obelisks.
Massive temples and tombs above and dug out across the Giza plateau much we have not discovered as well as all the boxes, smaller statues, vases and many other precision works all done in this small time period. There was around 40,000 vases found under Djsoers pyranid. Oh and don't forget the Sphinx.
So this work done in such a short time by basically pounding, grinding and rubbing the hardest of stone into shape. It doesn't seem possible. The idea of just saying that 10s of 1,000's of workers slaved in the hot desert sun chipping away to create these amazing works seems a cop out. Saying elbow grease and time doesn't explain things. Its an unsatisfactory explanation because it doesn't address how exactly.
A lot of the signatures in the stones don't match the tools in the archeological records. For example we have a 20 foot wooden sled in the Petrie Museum which is basically suppose to carry a 100 foot plus 1200 ton flab of granite. We have a 2 to 3 foot copper saw that is suppose to saw a 10 foot by 6 foot granite box in one go.
After around the 4th dynasty the pyramids become smaller and the megalithic statues and pricision works stop. It was as though the knowledge and skill was lost or the later dynastic Egyptians found the megaliths and precision works and inherited them and tried to copy them but could not produce the same level of precision and size.
But this is reflected throughout the world. Many cultures have ancient megaliths and other precision works that seem to disappear and later people come along and inherit these works. They actually try to repair them and often make these works the center of worship like they are honored as something from the gods.
The ancient peoples including the Egyptians claim they did not make these megaliths and precision works but inherited them from the gods or some advanced people. Ao its interesting that the cultures involved today do not take ownership of the works as part of their own distant culture but that they come from some god like people.
Though mainstream archeology tries to force them to take ownership even though the culture itself say they did not create them. Almost as though western archeologists are dictating to other cultures what they own stories must be and deny their own experiences.
