Maybe so, but surely you agree that in the USA at the present time, the overwhelming majority of the "hate / racism" is coming from the right? That is not to excuse the problems on the left, but rather to gain perspective.
Research into hate groups and their numbers doesn't say much about racism/hate in general.
More to the point though, if one side is demonizing whites and men...I can't really support that side, even if I don't like what the other side has to say.
I certainly am not redefining hatred this way. Are you seriously suggesting that the right is not, right now and specifically in the United States, engaging in more "hate" than the left?If you redefine hatred as only commissible towards nonwhites, nonmen, etc then obviously it will look as if the majority of the hatred is coming from the right.

Not the point. I asked you to defend an assertion you made. One thing at a time please. But by the same token you cannot prove that most practising Muslims don't believe in draconian sharia over equality.
I do like the way that the ADL had to specifically exclude 4chan's little effort - their members put up posters saying "It's OK to be white", just that, with no advocation for any political group and no mention of anyone else.
This presented the news media with a simple enough choice, they could ignore it as real-world trolling or they could try to explain how just saying it's ok to be of a given ethicity was in fact a subtle form of racism against every other ethnicity while all the time desparately trying not to say that it's not ok to be white.
Needless to sat that they all lost their collective [wish I could finish this off], and looked like prize idiots.
I think it is clear that neither of us has credible data to support our respective opinions. You may not be actively thinking of it as such, but that’s how the debate has been shifted, to the point where you may not notice hatred when it is directed against those groups I highlighted.
Your question is basically meaningless, how are you quantifying hate?
I think it is clear that neither of us has credible data to support our respective opinions.
That was exactly my point.Hang on - I meant it’s hard to tell either which way, due to the lack of a metric.
Hang on - I meant it’s hard to tell either which way, due to the lack of a metric.
I don’t deny there’s plenty of hatred on the right - I see no metric to discern how one side has *more* hatred than the other, however. The waters are muddied too by the left’s attempts to mangle the established definitions of terms like hatred, racism, etc.

It's a high school, but the same mentality is present in most colleges
School cancels 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' due to white student getting lead role - The College Fix
Students United’s letter conceded that the student cast as Esmeralda “is a stellar actor, singer, and dancer” and that any production would be “lucky to have her.”
However, it added: “Our concern is not with her, but with the fact that in terms of demographics, she is the wrong choice for this role.”
White Supremacists Are Targeting College Campuses Like Never Before[/URL]
I'm not holding an event where I'm highlighting fringe elements claiming it's all about free speech. But you're correct, if I was creating a free speech event based on extreme elements, they would not be invited as they are not the most extreme. But that's the lie of these organizations claiming it's about free speech, it's not about free speech, it's about promoting white supremacists on campus. That's their plan when they invite Richard Spencer, yet pretend it's simply about free speech. For the same reason you wouldn't invite Ann Coulter or Ben Stein
or Rush Limbaugh.
I think the increasing presence of white supremacists on campus is not something borne of the student body, I think they're mostly outsiders. That is wholly different from on-campus discourse seen on college campuses. If anything, I think the right-wing college students like to flirt with white supremacy without going full hog. They often flirt with it under the guise of free speech, but my attitude is if they really are all about free speech, why don't they invite some Hoteps or Black Israelites on campus?
