Which will you prefer?

Ok a question for all drivers here. Which will you prefer and why.

Manual transmission or automatic transmission?

For me its must be manual. I tend to get drowse easily when on the road and this keeps me awake.

I am with you on this Blackwing...I prefer the manual all the way...to be honest with you, I have never in my life even driven an automatic...so I don't have anything to compare it to...so for me stick shift all the way!

I like both for different reasons.

I like manual because I feel like I am more in control of the car. It is nice when driving in adverse conditions like heavy rain or snow. Disadvanages: I do most of my driving in town whare there is a lot of stop and go traffic. Upshifting and downshifting gets to be a pain sometimes.

I like automatic for long road trips. Very comfortable, especially if cruise control is added. Also nice if you're stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway - you're not constantly clutching and shifting.

I do not know how to drive a manual transmission.

That's my answer...I've only driven automatic.

But I would love to learn to drive manual someday.

When I was a teen, one of my guy friends (not boyfriend, just a friend) tried to teach me to drive his "stick" shift Chevy. Well, I jerked everyone in the car from here to Timbucktoo . . . I've since stuck to an automatic!

I enjoy driving both but driving an automatic is much easier in traffic.

I wouldn't know! I don't drive yet (16 here!). But I would probably like automatic, as it may be easier...?

Yes it is easier, but driving a manual can be very fun.

It is fun driving manual(have to get license first)

You have control of the car and it's more economical on fuel too.

I'll stick witht he good 'ol automatic... :o um, because I just can't drive manual... but I wouldn't mind trying to learn though. I tried in my cousin's car, but I think that was the first and last lesson I got from him

Yes, I much prefer manual because you have more control over the car, besides it much more economical...

I prefer a manual transmission. I like shifting gears and clutching and all of that! Gives me something to do! It can be a bit of a pain in busy city traffic, but other than that....and the savings in gas mileage makes up for the pain of city driving.

And since I don't live in the city.......NO PROBLEM! LOL!

I haven't tried manual transmission, since I don't have a manual car. So I can't really compare... but I really would like to try how manual will feel like, because sometimes, auto is a bit boring.... hehe
