Which song talks to you and why?

Got a song that seems to be written to give you a message?

There's one song that always gives me a spiritual kick in the butt because I totally need the reminder. I'm your typical type A control freak so Ginny Owen's song "I am" is one of my favorites because it ALWAYS reminds me that God is in control and that I can relax and trust in him. I'll even play it when I start stressing out or I'll read the lyrics (I save lyrics from songs that I like).

Just curious to see what song talks to you and why

If you've read some of my other posts (mainly in the journal) you'll know I like the song Everything To Me by Avalon. That song speaks to me in so many ways. My favorite line is "I wanna live for Jesus so that someone else might see that He is everything [to me]". It helps keep my eyes on God and just reminds me to be a living example of Christian character.

I've said it before but Casting Crown's Who AM I is probably the best song ever to me right now!! it really blesses me every time i hear it!! I think it speaks to me because i used to be really confused about why i was here and what my purpose was and this song just tells how we're not even worthy to be here but we're here to do his work and that we are HIS!!!

Our music pastor at church wrote a song called "When I Call Your Name"
That songs talks to me so much, basically it means when I call His name, He is there for me and always will be as long as I call His name. He gives me more than I could ever need in life.

I sang a song at my church the other week called "i'm giving you my heart" my Marc James. This song blesses me and others every time i sing it or hear it. I was a bit startled because when i sang it some people started to cry!! It was the first time i'd sang in church in front of anyone before so i was really nervous!!!!!!!!!!

One that really gets me is "Only You" By David Crowder Band. The last lines are so simple but oh so powerful, they are-

"And it's just You and me here now
Only You and me here now"

And that just totally took my breath away because it's true, in the end it's only you and Him, just you and Him.

Yeah same thing here. i think sometimes we can let our image get in the way of our feelings. I find that irritating, because sometimes i just want to cry out with everything i have, but i hold back.

Our youth group band has been taking secular song and singing them for Christ. The most powerful one in my opinion is Killin in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. It presents us with the most uplifting attitude for prayer and is a refreshing drink of fresh air to our spirit!

For me it would be 'So Close' - I think Darlene Zschech wrote it... I cry everytime they play it at church.

For someone that has issues about abandonment (it's a typical trait of the men I've had in my life - father included), that song just gets to me SO much...

I can't really say that there's one particular song that speaks to me coz I've listened to so many and they all seem to have spoken to me at one time. O.k, it dependon may be something that I may be going thru at the time.

But there's one song from Don Moen's 'I Will sing' album that helped me alot sometime, actually, the song is the Album Title, I will sing.
The lyrics go something like this,
