It depends on what definition of "liberal" and "conservative" people go by...

If you view it in terms of constitutionality, many values that are considered "liberal" by society's definition are actually conservative in terms of the original vision (and vice versa).

For example, the pot issue... Being for marijuana is considered "liberal", while being against it is considered "conservative"...however, I consider legalizing it to be a conservative value... since it's not explicitly mentioned in the constitution, therefore it should be up to the states so if they want to allow it, and if they want it, they should be able to have it...in my view that's right in line with a conservative view of the constitution in terms of taking it literally.

I would say that I am libertarian in the sense that I believe that individuals should have the opportunity, if they so choose, to keep the government out of their business. So, if I want to send an email to my friend, it is between me and my friend, not me my friend and the NSA. If I am not doing anything illegal, I should be free to ignore the police officer who wants to stop and frisk me "just to be on the safe side". I want to be able to know that unless I give express consent otherwise (which I would never do), my government has no right to track where I go, how I get there, and who I go with. I believe that, regardless of my own (or the majority's) political opinions that Constitutional liberties are conditioned only by Article V of the Constitution. I am convinced that the Patriot Act has taken more away from Americans in the name of combating "terrorism" than any terrorist could ever take away from us. I believe that if two dudes or two chicks want to get married to each other, or if someone wants to smoke pot, etc., it's not the place of government to tell them no.

OTOH, I don't have any objection to government using its resources and influence to make sure that people who are unable to care for themselves have their needs met. Nor do I have any objection to the power of government correcting flagrant abuses of civil rights against weaker communities and individuals by more powerful communities and individuals. Thus, unlike many libertarians, I still believe that the CRA of 1964 and similar statures are good legislation that need to remain in effect. But, I believe we go too far when we make virtually everyone a "protected class". I believe that, with liberty inevitably comes responsibility, that without responsible individuals acting together in cohesive communities to protect the good of all, liberty inevitably breaks down into anarchy. However, I believe that, as much as possible this responsibility ought to be invested in smaller localized communities, not in State or Federal Government.

All that said, I probably do lean closer to the Libertarians than the Greens. But, I must say that when I hear Libertarians argue for complete repeal of the IRC or the CRA, it makes me cringe just a little. But, in the end I have an easier time getting behind this than I do getting behind Democratic and Republican ideas of endless intervention in the world's affairs and stripping away the Bill of Rights to "protect" us from the very people we alienate by being the world's policeman.

I'd necessarily always side with the Green party over the Democrats. Likewise, Libertarians over Republicans. In fact the world would be better off if both the Republicans and Democrats were abolished, and we had a real choice between philosophies of government.

All this "polarization" is a myth started by those in power and perpetuated by the uninformed sheep who were the target of their BS. There is no polarization, you guys agree on all the major issues, you simply wear different jerseys and think that this constitutes any substantial difference between you. You don't like the red team and they don't like the blue team, but you're both essentially the same. When your team does it, it's ok. When the other team does it, you scream bloody murder.

I got 88% Green Party. It also said I didn't side with the Republicans on a single issue lol. On foreign policy I sided with both the Libertarians and the Green Party.

I side 56% percent with Democrats. 56% with Democrats, 55% with Green, 51% with socialist(surprisingly high), 46% Republicans and 36% with Libertarians. I think this survey just proves what I already knew, I am all over the spectrum politically. It says that I side the most with Gary Johnson(I almost voted for him) in regards to last years presidential election.

Because in all reality, when it comes right down to it, most of the republicans and democrats are pretty much along the same points on the graph. Which in my opinion means that they are UnAmerican because they have moved far away from the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.

Ron Paul isn't an anarchist, he's a constitutionalist. No biggy, though. There are all sorts of subgroups within parties. For example: I'm a bleeding heart libertarian and agree with some less-libertarian things (like Gary Johnson's opinion on gay marriage and Rand Paul's on healthcare) because we have to take baby steps. You cannot go from big gov to libertarian "dream land" overnight. It takes time.
