CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sure you may. It wouldn´t. Just as anything else in the hypothetical doesn´t provide me with any - for me - relevant or usable criteria for killing.

Do I get to be personally involved? I mean, a broken neck is painless, as is a slit throat. And, yes, this influences my decision.
Also, how gifted is the chimp?
Is the developmentally disabled individual mildly disabled, or along the lines of Borat's brother Bilo?

You do not personally kill either. In fact, you don't even know how they will be killed - only that it will be painless for them.
How green is the grass? I don't know, it's just a gifted chimp. It can't talk, but it's smart.
I don't know Bilo, so I have no clue on that.
FINE, it can be in Avatar's basement. But there is still no punishment or legal repercussions at all and no one will (hypothetically) know that you did this.

How smart? Does it obviously understand concepts like addition and subtraction? Can it read?
