Which One Is Correct?

Hello Dear friends:
I want to ask you a question having in mind two cases:
FIRST:
I´m a good professional at my work. Do I have to look for professional growth...? Let´s say... I can see there is a vacant position up there... and I feel myself confident and fully able to get that position that...I go to my boss office and say: I want that position, because I feel I can give results... Taking our Father promisses that He will be with us. There are a lot of blesses in the Bible that can make me feel inclinned to this firts one case.

SECOND:
I can see there is a vacant position one level up from mine. But I choose the FAITH option and say If my Father wants it for me, He will give it to me for sure. I just have to be prepared professionally and personally to be ready for that momment
Which one is correct?

Neither.

It may be that God's best will for you is not to take a higher positiion, but to stay in the one you are currently in. Or it may be HIs will for you to take a different position. Or it may be His will for you to puruse a different line of work altogether.

You can't assume that because there is a promotion available, God wants you to take it!

LAmb has a point - but the only way to tell is to put yourself forward in faith and trust that if God wants you to have it, you will have it and if he does not you will not.

However, just because He tells you to apply does not mean you will get it. Sometimes we are just learning to step out so that when where He does want us to go comes along we don't hesitate in our stepping out.

I go for the faith case, taking the following written in James 1:17

Some friends of mine at work, tell me... c´mon, go for it. Go for that position...You are preppared... but, I can testify, for the Glory of God, that He gives me what He feels is right for me. Not so long ago, there was a training curse in Baltimore Md. I was not designated to take it. Suddenly, when I heard the news and those people named to go... I began to think... Why them and not me? -I feel shame to tell you this, but I thought it. So I said... It´s a computer training curse!!! What that guy has to do with it? I just prayed to God, to take those ugly feelings and thoughts away from my mind. Then I felt better and had peace on my heart and forgot this situation. Three days later, one of those guys named for the training, came to me and said... I cant go because x... Can you go for me? I went to the course. But let me tell you that I did not enjoy the training!!! Can you believe it?!!! The highlight of the trip was a meeting between two christian guys and me outside a comercial center in Lancaster Pa. one night before my departure from de US!!!I did not meet them before. I did not know them but we talked for hours!!! That was... I still think... the real objective of my designing and the trip. Glory to Jesus Christ.

Your second option is not faith... it's pacifism. Your first option shows faith because you said that "you know God would be there with you." That's faith.

You are absolutely right in the second text.
The first one... I can remember that I will not do what I want by my strenghts. Jesus Christ living in my heart will tell me which way I must follow. Praying is the better choice I have to take and then wait for God´s will.

There is one song from Jesus Adrian Romero which says:
And I will wait... Paciently.
Even though the doubt torments me
I dont trust with my mind, I do it with my heart.
And I will wait...
In the torment, even though your answer comes late, I will trust in Your porvidence
You always have the control.
