  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Which is correct age for marriage male and female.

My opinion is Male at the age of 25, female 21.

I'd say that it depends on the individual's plans, dreams, callings, needs, and circumstances, and even then it falls in a large range of acceptable ages, not a single "correct" age.

Which is better Arranged marriage or love marriage?

I'm a firm believer in "love marriage" over arranged marriages. Important life decisions require self-determination.

Your thoughts.

When they are ready for some it's 18 or others 37. I don't think in today's world women are anymore ready to marry earlier or should they then men.

Arranged marriage benefits the parents more often than the people getting married. marriage should be about a commitment between people that are in love, not between people trying to make a business transaction.

Though honestly I have to go with an above poster. Mating for life is rapidly becoming an outmoted concept as average human life expectancy increases. yes, there are those rare couples that really are perfect for each other, that can stay together for 80 years in a harmonious partnership, but most couples are no where near that ideal.

Age wise, it varies state to state, country to coutnry. but if your old enough to be recognized as a legal adult, then you're old enough to get married, so 18 is probably the average.

I wouldn't recomend it before each has had some time to live on their own and be independent from their parents.

We were almost 23 and 28. Too young, looking back. I think 25 for a woman, 30 for a man.

Why do you (both DCC and the OP) think that women are ready to marry earlier than men are? I'm just curious.
I think that the best time is determined individually based on quite a lot of factors- there is no "one size fits all" time for such a major decision.

I don't really believe marriage works, I've seen too many break down to really ever want to. I believe if people are gonna get married they've got to at least be 18, with some degree of maturity because I know men who are 22 who are very immature and would never suit marriage. I think 16 is very very young, and that any parent who believes their child is fine to enter marriage at that age, needs to have a serious rethink.

I couldn't imagine anyone marrying younger than 22 so that they could attend college before getting married. I'm one of those people who assumes everyone goes to college unless they tell me otherwise, though.

I got married on my 23rd birthday, and there's no way that I could have been ready for it any sooner. I needed to go to college without distraction. Maybe that's just me.

My mom married when she was 19, and she says it's one of her greatest regrets that she didn't give herself the chance to grow up more before getting married. I'm glad I gave myself the chance to get my degree before settling down.
