God just wants you to give Him AT LEAST one day out of seven. It is not important to him which day you give him. But, he really wants each and every one of us to give him every day and if we do that, it makes every day the sabbath.

If it doesn't matter to God, then He wouldn't have blessed and sanctified the 7th day, but every day instead.

And He wouldn't have told us to keep the Sabbath day holy, but Sabbath days holy, if every day was equal to the Sabbath day.

Cliff, read this one again and let's not worship a day, lets worship God.

Let's not honor a calendar and keep a calendar holy!

I am lost as to why you would think we worship a day.

We do not worship a day, we worship the Creator of the universe.

You missed the point. The point is that we, as his children, should be giving him EVERY DAY, and that is what he deserves!

Ask ANY Sabbath keeper if they give God EVERY DAY. You bet we do. He does deserve that and that is what He gets.

You're missing the point. You can't rest and cease from ALL work 7 days a week. You are to set aside one day, the day HE commanded, and keep it holy. If you cease from all work 7 days a week you aren't following the commandment.

No, I didn't miss the point. And I agree that we should give God every day; but you are wrong in thinking that there isn't one day that God prefers above all of the other days.

He only blessed and sanctified the 7th day, period!

Bobby35,

re: "That was then. It is different now. (e.g. - we no longer need to live under the law)"

The law that contains the Sabbath command also contains the command to "not take the name of the Lord your God in vain". You mean that you really don’t need to live in accordance with that command?

It is Sabbath here in Australia so Happy Sabbath to everyone.

On Friday you told us it was Saturday in Austrailia. That's what I've tried to show you- your Saturday is our Friday, therefore we must wait one more day. Then our Saturday is your Sunday.

If I take my sabbath the same day you do then I am resting on Friday. If I take the Sabbath on my Saturday then that is your Sunday.

The Sabbath is not a certain day. It is the seventh day after six days of work. Saturday is not the Sabbath, neither is Sunday.

Exodus 20:9-10
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: [10] But the seventh day is the sabbath...

-and Cliff, this command is not found in the N. T.

Norman:

You are not thinking rationally. Don't try to make something so simple complicated by arguments that are not based on common sense. If you had lived during the time of Moses and the children of Israel, and when Moses presented the Ten Commandments written by Jesus' own finger in stone, would you have made the same lame excuse to Moses as you are to us here on CF, as to why you shouldn't keep the 7th day holy as Jesus commanded? I don't think so! You can know which day is the 7th day wherever you live on planet earth, why not start doing what is in your power to do, instead of coming up with all kinds of lame reasons why you can't keep the 7th day. Which begs the question: Do you really think that Jesus would have written the Sabbath commandment into stone if He knew that there was no way that we as humans could keep it? Our God doesn't play with us like pawns, or toys. He is our friend. For you to obey and do just what Jesus says to do should be a pleasure, and not something that you have think some of creative way of getting out of doing for Him.

That means according to your conclusion that there is no more sin in the world.

The Bible says that "sin is trangression of the law"

No more law, then no more sin.

When we look into the world we do not find that to be the case at all.

It seems like there is more sin than ever so it still looks like we have a law.

....................

Matthew 13:13
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

BrightCandle: The word rational is to be examined as you said that I am not thinking rationally.

The word rational is synonymous with sensibly, realistically, brightly, and reason. To say one is not thinking rationally is very close to saying one it thinking foolishly.

It is very close to calling one a fool and the word fool is translated from the Hebrew (keciyl) meaning stupid or silly.

The SDA say that Saturday is the Sabbath, they have their worship service on Saturday.

Suppose two ships are in the water, one on the East side of the International Date Line the other boat on the West. The population of both of these ships are all SDA. It is Saturday on one side of the line and Sunday on the other. According to the teachings in this thread, which one of those groups will have their Sabbath on the correct day?

Regardless of which one, it then makes the other ship-load wrong as they will either not have a Sabbath at all or they will have it on the wrong day.

Now think rationally, BrightCandle. God did not command us to keep Saturday holy. The command to keep the Sabbath is not found in the N.T. The command to keep the Sabbath in the O.T. was not for a certain day and no certain day was named within the command.

Exodus 20:9 & 10
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work...
(First we are commanded to work 6 days)

[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath...

The seventh day after what?

Answer: The 7th day after working six days!

I forgive you for calling me a fool (indirectly).

2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Normann
