Mark 13:22
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
1 Timothy 4:16
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
When i look at these 2 verses of God's Holy Word, considering them both, there are a could things that jump out at me.
Today we have many differant Christs preached. I think it would be rather obvious that only one Christ can save. NO false Christ can save, ONLY the one Christ. But who is this Christ? To find what He is all about, we have DOCTRINE that was handed down form God to the prophets, to Christ, to the apostles, down through church fathers finally to us.
In these last 150 years however, and most especially since the 1950s, we have had every conceivable false doctrine splintering off from traditional doctrine. Paul tells Timothy that he must HOLD FAST to the doctrine that he was taught, and that it is THIS doctrine that is able to save... ONLY THIS ONE...
THAT doctrine taught who this Christ was so that we can differentiate a false Christ from the real Christ.
WHO IS this real Christ and WHAT IS HIS doctrine?
Is He God? What does He demand of those who are His? What are we to believe Him to be?
